Pics from Blackall
Stickbender (Paul ) kindly asked Keith and i if we wanted to go out to Blackall and chase some goats,we of coarse said yes so last Tuesday Keith and i headed out to blackall,took us 14hours,rained most of the way,we got to camping area at about 9 pm then Paul and Ros met us there about midnight,had a bit of sleep then travelled the 100 odd k's of muddy road in four wheel drive to get to the block a couple of million acres,well to cut a long story short the cocky forgot to mention to Paul when he rang him that the goats had been mustered,and where there was thousands of goats when Paul and Ros were there last time there was maybe 20 goats left and they were pretty touchy,seen around 30 pigs had a couple of stalks,still had a great time with great people,seen places i've never seen before,thank you Paul and Ros.........

Re: Pics from Blackall
wow Rod, some beautiful country about there!! Sure makes you appreciate this country where we live! Love that stove, you know those old stoves in the UK are selling for a few grand when restored, all the rich folk are wanting the old looking stoves in their kitchens.

Re: Pics from Blackall
Some good photos of great looking goat country mate. It's a real shame the cocky failed to mention the part about just mustering all the goats. I'm sure the goats will eventually wander back into country like that.

Re: Pics from Blackall
Great pics Rod. Bit of a downer about the mustering, but it still beats sitting here looking at the idiot box any day

Re: Pics from Blackall
Thanks,.....Munt. it sure is beautiful country alright,that stove was in good nic for its age,would love to have put it in the ute but didn't have the room Jeff, i dont know how long it will take to get any decent amount of goats back there,i think Paul and Ros were in shock at the lack of goats,they've been going there for twenty eight years and there's always been heaps of goats,Yeah Roscoe we did a bit of hunting but spent a lot of time looking for the goats,but the block was so big it was over 40k's from one area to the next to have a look ,like i said millions of acres.yes Bob definately better than watching the idiot box, yes Otis it did look promising,i expected to see aborigine drawings there in the caves but there wasn't any.

Very picturesque! Well-done!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Nah Jeff Keith looks like that all the time
Re: Pics from Blackall
Looks good mate, some good pics there, shame about the goats, but at least you got to see a few pigs. Time in the bush is much better than working
