Manning Valley Trad date change to Sept 23/24
I have been advised today the Manning Valley club at Taree have, unfortunately, been asked to change the date for the Andrew Fishenden Memorial Traditional Shoot to the weekend of Sept 23 / 24.

Why the change, this has stuffed my plans Big time, after Swan Hill I was going upto Wisemans for Andy's Memorial Shoot , then down to Albury/Wodonga Invitation shoot which is to be held on this weekend.
Then later on I was planning on coming North to do shoots at Coffs Harbour , Tarree and onto Qld to shoot at Chevallan Park. So now I only intend to go to shoots that are user friendly as I need a mobility scooter and walking sticks to get around. Cheers Roadie.

Re: Manning Valley Trad date change to Sept 23/24
Sorry Roadie about the change of dates but we have found in previous years that November was to hot and to close to Christmas so we didn't get a great attendance. We had actually planned on Oct 7,8 until we found TAA are having their first nationals that weekend. Hence the change to the week before the long weekend. What that means is you will have the choice of 5 shoots in 5 weekends with Wisemans, Manning, Hunter, TAA nats, and Coffs Harbour Our grounds can be open early if anyone wants to camp
Our flyer should be out soon. Cheers Karl Manning D/Bowhunters

Andrew Fishenden Memorial Shoot.
Well you've had time to think about it. So whose thinking of coming?
The work continues in preparation. The axe and knife block is ready which reminded me of Andy Firth throwing his big double bladed axe at our first 2 day charity shoot. Karl

I remember that big axe of Andy's hurtling into the axe block at Manning Traditional Shoots.
Couple of us coming over for your trad shoot from the tablelands.

ANDREW FISHENDEN MEMORIAL TRAD SHOOT
Had a Father's Day shoot today. Some of the fathers and families had a play on the running pig also just to make sure it will work well for the charity trad shoot Also dug out the bow bird targets and they are ready to go. Looking at the shooting lanes for the bow bird and flu flu clout made me realise we need to adjust some of the trees. That can be next weeks job.
Haven't had much interest so far. 3 from the New England and 1 from Gunnedah so far.
Just a reminder that we are the week after Wisemans and the week before Hunter. See you there.

only 19 sleeps to go. The date change has affected quite a few peoples plans who were going to do Taree then Coffs, and are now unable to get to Taree. So please support this one if you can, from previous accounts the shoot is pretty good.

Unfortunately we have had a letter from NSW Forestry Corp telling us that we can't have any camp fires due to the lack of rain in our area. It is shame because it just isn't the same without a fire. We will just have to make do I suppose. Hopefully we might get some rain between now and then although the forecast doesn't show any this week Here's hoping. Karl

Thanks for letting everyone know Karl, it's pretty dry in quite a few areas at the moment with little relief on the radar.
There are still 12 sleeps to go, so you never know.

Well we had 3 or 4mm of rain last night then the wind came up today and dried everything thing out again. No rain on the forecast for the next two weeks either. Might have to have cold showers if we can't light our donkey up. Karl

Weather forecast is for fine , no rain. It's deathly dry and the forestry say we can't use the donkey so beautiful cold showers, use all the water you like. Don't forget your flu flus with and without blunts and your whistling arrow for the whistling arrow salute in memory of lost friends to start the shoot.
Will look forward to a taste of New England trout. Cheers Karl

Well the fire ban is still on in our state forest so have put in a massive gas burner under our donkey so we'll all be able to have a hot shower over the weekend.
The first campers arrived today. Great to see Towball and Mrs. Towball again. Looking fwd to a great weekend with friends remembering those who have gone. Cheers Karl
