Re: Norfolk Island Trad Shoot 2016
At long last I got around to booking my flights, now to call my mate on the Island to see if I can have a bed and a car.
Those going to the shoot don't forget to do your postal voting before you go.
Being it will be day 2 of Australia running the place I would not count on the polling to go smoothly over there.
From what I am hearing we should have a good turn out for the trad shoot.
Just remember this is Norfolk, shooting will happen just maybe not the way it's planned, just go with the flow and we will make it up as we go.

Re: Norfolk Island Trad Shoot 2016
Norfolk update.
We have the Golf Club for playing archery golf.
Its not every day you get to play archery golf at a golf club, should be a bit of fun.
They are closing the golf club for us so there is a fee, if there is under 25 players $22, over 25 players $15
You will need flu flus with bunts.
The only other fee will be $5 to play balls of stone, this money will go to a local charity. Still working on which one.
We are working on a morning tea, for the around island shoot, this is to raise money for a young lady on the island who has been picked to go overseas as an exchange student. If it happens the food will be good. ( I know because I am staying at their house, and the chocolate cakes there are huge)
Being the rest of the trad shoot is free hope everyone can find a few dollars to have some fun.

And a raincoat we will get wet one day after all its Norfolk.
What will be more fun is the Flu Flus in the good old Norfolk wind, aim for hole 1 and end up on hole 9.

Sue I'll be nice to your arrows for the first 3 days. Day 4 well who knows, I may try to lighten your luggage for the trip home.

2 sleeps for me, about a week for the rest of you that are coming. Current best guess is 40 trad shooters.
For those not going this is what you are missing.

Re: Norfolk Island Trad Shoot 2016
Sad to say its all over for this year. There will be lots of photos as people start arriving back on the main land today and over the weekend. We had about 30- 40 Trad shooters for the different events, we had all over the island.
Best comment I had from one of the property owners was, "they all sound like happy little pigs playing in the mud."
Thanks to all the archers that came out to Norfolk to play, and the archery club for putting on the international shoot.
Planning has started for next years shoot, start saving.

Re: Norfolk Island Trad Shoot 2016
Here a few I took of various Trad events we did.
cheers
sue
The only arrow I actually nocked and got away, I spent the rest of the 30secs laughing whilst being bounced uncontrollably around like a rag doll. I had everyone in stitches..
It was a great shoot - the Trad Section was excellent. There were 76 archers in total at the 3D international, of this number 30 participated in the Trad around the island shoot. We shall keep you informed of events to take place in 2017.cheers

Another bunch of photos these are from the 5 targets we had at Walk in the Wild which is a private property with a small bush walk the public can do in the afternoons. We got to play here in the morning when it was closed to the public.
