WTB Heavier Longbow (preferred) or Recurve budget to $300

#1 Post by Jake13 » Tue Dec 08, 2015 8:09 pm

Fellow archers,

As per the title, I'm after a longbow with a draw weight around 80-100lb, or alternatively a recurve, to $300 but prefer to spend less. Not after anything fancy, just wanting to continue developing strength and accuracy at higher weights.

Cheers,

Jake

Hi Jake,

I make English warbows in those weights fairly frequently. (currently working on a 130lb bow).

I think you'll be hard pressed to get something in those kind of weights for $300 tho.

What style of shooting will you be doing with the bow?

Colin

Hey there Colin,

Thanks for the reply. It'll be for backyard target, 3D and eventually hunting, and yes, I expect to be looking for some time.

I will eventually make some bows, but starting at lower weights and expecting failures along the way. I've had a look at your build threads, impressive!

Cheers,

Jake

Bump. Now after anything from 55-60# up as my longbow is now an ex-longbow and I'm getting itchy string fingers.

Mate I'd struggle with 110#, but do like a challenge. Budget's pretty tight for now but will let you know if that changes. Thanks for posting.
