Blacktail one piece

#1 Post by Jeffro » Wed May 04, 2011 5:59 pm

The bubble wrap wont come off quickly and you have to carefully cut it away.
That is just so annoying because I wanted to get this out and look at it straight away but the ammount of tape and packing prevented me from doing it quickly so I could see this :D

Blacktail one piece Elite VL 60"
Gaboon Ebony and Cocobolo in riser with top grade Myrtlewood and Cocobolo veneers over bamboo.
its marked 51#@30 and is in nice condition 2nd hand I got it at a good price as they are pretty expensive new and a long wait.
Amazingly the guy managed to get it to go through in the regular mail.He said it is a small town post office and has an old lady running it.
I didnt have a second bow after selling my bob lee and this will be good for hunting foxes and rabbits .

Jeffro both nice bows, you are a lucky man to have such good gear.
Just have to learn to get them made with the cutt out on the right side so you can sell them to me.

Great bow, Jeffro! Congrats!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Truly truly beautiful bows and yours is no exception. I have a great bow collection so should not be envious but I am. Congrats mate.

re the old lady and the post office, that has been my experience. I only paid an unbelievable $36 US to have a 70'' long bow sent here. Apparently if you can get it into their system it goes anyway.Problem of course is finding that ideal situation.

That's really something, Jeffro. You've got a great couple of bows there, Bud. :D

Jeff,

Two of the better looking bows getting around these days...! 8)

I think I may have to try and shoot them of the hand at the Gathering in a few weeks.....

Cheers Guy

Hi Jeff,

A very nice bow indeed.

The bowyer, IMO got the right balance of style and colour in the riser.

Daryl.

How does it shoot?

Guy you can have a go of them no worries

Daryl ive only had about 30 shots and it will need new arrows specially for it I think. My woods are a bit all over the place with it and I dont like the arrow rest or the string so ill make new ones on the weekend but I did find some of the woods flew straight as can be.
The huntsman is smoother probably cause its longer but I think if I got used to the blacktail it would be like any bow your used to and I could shoot it well.Having a longer draw length im better off with a longer bow I believe but I just had to have this blacktail aswell :D

Heck of a nice bow, pretty much all Blacktails are in my experience. But relegating it to shooting just bunnies and foxes, ouch!

I dont shoot goats really and although I think it will be allright on pigs,I would prefer to use my other bow as it has more power for the porkers.

Ive made a new string and found my 55\75 gold tips fly well out of it.
And now it is relegated to awesome status
