Thanks for the tips Kev re setting up!

"Have you got a headlamp for both of you?"
We've got one between the two of us, haven't had the time yet to buy any...

"Jessie and I would be honoured if you two or four wanted to shoot as a group". It might help as we know our way round/know what to expect and it will give you someone easy to beat"Yeah I'm keen, do we need a fancy name?
not sure about the 'easy to beat' bit, I'm used to targets which don't move and are nice and big and round .....
looking forward to some fun and instinctive shooting though! Soren will be using the Korean Bow I managed to win at the world trad shoot...

"If you have a few broadhead arrows there is also a broadhead 3D range for those over 16". Haven't tried that before, but as you know I will gladly give it a go!!

See you Saturday

With sad regret I can only hope and wish you all the best for this event. I have been under the hammer here at work. 7am-8pm long days for the last 3 weeks does not make for a happy lad. I just wont make it to this one. All the best and I know I will be missing a great shoot:(

Thanks to HVTA for yet another fab shoot.
It was all great [people, catering & facilities] but for mine the 3D broadhead range was the pick.....truly awesome.
I could not believe how long the pick of the table raffle went and the quality of the donated prizes.
Congrats to Howard and Regina Bohler for their wins in the final shootout.
Congrats to all the winners and place getters.
Not a bad effort Reggie for your first Gathering to get first in Ladies longbow, win the shoot out against the recurvers and and win a prize for craft work.
Good to see so many families and very pleasing to see the younger brigade sticking it up the crusty old dogs.
Great value.
Great fun.

Congratulations Guy and Regina on some very fine shooting ..

i had the pleasure of shooting some rounds with Guy Layton and he shot extremely well , very relaxed and fine form . He bought back some of the best scores that i have seen shot on the running pig 8)

He is a traditional archer that we will hear alot about in the coming years ....

A truly awesome weekend!!! Nice bunch of people, friendly and down to earth! Thanks for making us feel so welcome! My 11 year old loved the Archery and the knife throwing even more.. Jessica's fireball display was very special too! Lot's of talent there Kev!!!

I still can't quite believe I managed to survive two shootouts and not fall to pieces! It could have gone either way! I'm stoked that there were so many women and girls shooting traditional bows and loving it as much as I do. Congratulations to all of you!!

Well done Guy and all the other blokes, some truly amazing shooting on display.

Thanks again to Trish and all the HVTA mob for putting up such a fantastic weekend.
We'll be back

Reggie & Soren :D

Hey Jeffro, you won a few prizes at the draw. Minor stuff, Trev did you proud but I am not too sure about the "assistance and advice" given by Towball. Just as Trev was checking things out Towball yelled out that you wanted an electric toaster now that you had a generator.

Trev obviously has a lot of faith in Towball.

Nice toaster.

My daughter wanted jewellry and a chestguard. She does really well for someone who never buys a raffle ticket. Then she proceeded to put in requests for her mum. Amazing how kids take things like that for granted and then it happens...Jessie even told me how many picks I could have and what I needed: Loctite 406 [which I have tried to get and no one near me stocks it] and a better carnivore whistle.

Truly amazing the generosity of all the sponsors.

Afternoon All

First of all I would like to thank all those who attended our "Gathering" at the weekend, it was great to meet old friends & meet many new ones.

The weather gods were finally good to us. Nice & chilly, with lots of sunshine.

Kev, Towball wasn't there, it was his brother, Ronnie, Towball decided to go to Broome for a couple of weeks.

Thank you to Jess for putting on a great show, pity Nick couldn't get to see it, he thought someone was having a lend of him so he didn't come down to have a look, but next year he will definately come down to see her perform. Good job Jess.

Thank you to Keith Speight (Bushbow Targets ) for the donation of targets on the Speed Range.

Thank you to Blackstump Broadheads, 3 of the packages were awarded to 1,2 & 3 on the Broadhead range.

Thanks to all our sponsors, you made our raffle table enjoyable (though it did take awhile to get through & I'm sure those who received prizes aren't complaining)

Sorry that some of you couldn't make it, but there is always our "Charity" shoot on the October long weekend & there is always next year.

Trish,

What a great event.......!!!!

Hats of to you and all the gang at HVTA.... Both my family and I had a fantastic time over the long weekend, we managed to catch up with all our great friends and made new ones in the process... :D My daughter cried when she realised that the weekend had come to an end... ( I assured her that there will be many more in the near future..)

We are looking forward to seeing you all again in October for the charity shoot...

Cheers Guy.. :D
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!

Looks like everyone had a great weekend
Hopefully be there next year.

Hey Trish,

Just wondering who won the Longbow that Nick Lintern of (Norseman Longbows) made for the Shoot For Life charity shoot last year, as I and others were informed that the raffle was to be drawn at the Gathering this year?

Cheers
