This weekend was my first visit to the Gladstone Club!!! ...unfortunately I could only stay for the first day - but I had a ball.

What a fantastic group of people - great facilities - a well organised day - and a great time!

Thanks to all of the organizers - despite the weather in the previous week a great course had been set out!!!

As a fairly new trad shooter the coaching and advice given was also very much appreciated.

Gene-o, make sure you email me one of those shoot calendars when they're finalized...I'm definitely keen to visit a few more times this year!

Cheers,
Paul

On behalf of the Gladstone Bowhunters Club, I would like to thank everyone that came and supported our shoot this weekend. With your help we managed to raise $1 752.70 for the "Heart Foundation", in memory of Barry Griggs. I hope everyone enjoyed the shoot at least half as much as we enjoyed having you there. Again, thanks to one and all, and we hope to see you all at the "Australian Longbow and Recurve Muster" later in the year.
Cheers

FUN--FUN I've not had such fun since when I would sit in the mud in the pouring rain trying to drown the neighbours cat with a stick. Much the same as we were trying to do here! Rod , where are the photo's.

Howdy all.......hope you had a ball at the shoot........thanks to all who travelled and to the locals who came out and shot. In my view it was a great success with a very healthy amount raised for a great cause.......Thanks for your support.
Just goes to show that the rain can't dampen the spirits of bowhunters and archers alike.

Oh yeh.......How's the head Big Rod...........and where are all the photo's......... come on now you have slept long enough....

You should be able to sand the marks out of your new bow......the one that you slept on top of in your stretcher.......

Once again thanks to everyone for the support and help over the weekend. :D

didn' get a lot of pics,as my camera got a bit tipsy saturday night, and i had planned to do most of photo taking sunday but i was struck down by some kind of strange alien virus.......was going to get everyones photo and put names to them, but i'll have to wait till the muster now:D

Image
i woke up to scrub bull being bogged, thats Mrs.scrub bull on the back of the truck
Image
but with assistance from Andy and his Nissan got it out
Image
nearly all bows there were trad which i thought was pretty good.
Image

Image
this is the clubs under cover area that is al;most finished, heaps of room
Image
heres a pic of a couple of the young bloke shooting at the cans of water first can to the floor looses
Image

Image
this is their can thingy the can are full of water and balanced, the idea is put holes in the tin so the water runs
Image
this is red eagle and thats Geno shooting with his feet and he did pretty well the camera was getting dizzy by this time
Image
Richy RedEagle let this young bloke borrow one of his bows and if he beat him in the V shoot he could have it, and he did top, bloke that red Eagle.
Image
by the end of the night a few of us were shooting at bottle tops on a house brick at about 12yrds i guess.

Well done '55'......hope ya feelin' a bit better now and hope there isn't too much sanding required on the new bow.....

It was great to have you all up here, hope you enjoyed it......we certainly did....

Give ya a yell when the rubber ones come back out of the cupboard......might not be so wet underfoot then but it was certainly a whole lot cooler shooting on Sunday as we were all wet as shags...........

When the 3D calendar is put together I will shoot a copy down to you guys.......

Once again thanks for coming up and supporting the great cause......

Cheers mate......talk soon.

Hey Jeff, your spot on about being a damp weekend, although it rained a fair bit we all still had fun.
From the high tech shooters to us that use trad gear, we were all out in it sloshing around, I couldnt think of a better way to spend a weekend.
