Excellent! Thanks Tony...funny thing is, I'm an IT brute as well and I prefer emails LoL! Guess it has something to do with having a trail to follow in legal issues :(

Used to work with an international insurance firm - you would not believe [perhaps] what some people try to do...and that's internal!

How about a wager per broken arrow at the LB100? Say...50 cents per shaft, or a 6 pack which ever is the lesser?

*lesser - is that even a word? :shrugs: lets just be creative :thumbs up:

Many Thanks Tony - I will call Damo', hate to miss this event :)

Hi All,

We have opened registrations for the LB100 for 2010. Get in quick because we have to restrict numbers due to camping grounds and facilities. This shoot will be on the 23rd & 24th Jan 2010.

I have a PDF flyer but it's too large to attach to this (anyone have a suggestion? It's 564 kb, limit is 500)

Registrations can be e-mailed to Damian Mitchell at lilydalebowmen@hotmail.com

Any questions, please feel free to ask

Cheers,

Amanda Skinner
Lilydale Bowmen Treasurer & just all rounder :D

PS I am still organising the Saturday night entertainment but at this stage, we will rule out Karaoke again, but thinking about a trivia night :D

Hi Amanda...perhaps drop the graphics [if any] in the PDF to cut down the KB's...

Q?: Are you the Amanda at Ballarat on weekend? If so...I have a suggestion :sniggers:

*I've sent 2 emails to the hotmail address and have had no replies yet. It may be our server dropping them to the junk box, but I have recieved emails from other hotmail clients.

Mal you better read my post from wisemans 400+ arras shot two only broken one on purpose
It may have something to do with the cost of shafts at the moment.
But hey if you want to pay me for every arra I break I don't mind  that is what you mean't wasn't it
Look forward to meeting you again, good to see you've joined the trad humour, you might like to ask who else had many a broken arra at wisemans we did get up to Broken Arra the 3rd ( say that with an Irish accent) or was that 4th.
Cheers TonyJ

Amanda of Ballarat weekend
You weren't having those same discussions as you did at Lilydale were you. I have had to counsel the Big kahoodah twice about that matter  What a laugh don't know how he remembered anything given his condition

Huzzah TonyJ :D Let's see who breaks more  What ever the result - lets share some cups after the shoot

Arrows: I was at the ABA states' in Ballarat on the weekend, and our group captain dude was a gentleman named Mike Downy [Wyndham Rebels]...top bloke! Anyway, he was telling me about the bamboo shafts he got off ebay. He hadn't fletched or tipped them - But he was quite impressed with them. All spined correctly and straightened nicely. Like yourself, I baulk at the cost of the PO woods and have been keeping an eye on the boo' shafts. I'm having a shoot at the Rebel' club this Sunday, and hope to catch up with him there. Hopefully he's had time to loose a few and can share his impressions. I have 12 woods, which I cherish beyond belief...at the moment I'm using carbons at the butts as I work my way into my LB [shocking I know - but $$ have me by the short and curlies]

Can anyone tell me if boo' shafts are legal tender in trad' shoots?

Anyone doing the Clout shoot in November? I'll have to use my woods there, but I'm thinking it shouldn't be tooooo dangerous re: breakages.

Hi there Amanda! Regarding the night entertainment...here's my 2 bob's worth:

1: Get torch boy to give us a light show.
2: Torch boy / Laughing Man to do a comedy skit.
3: Ray doing a fire dance.
4: You and Ray doing a 'walk me back to me tent' dance.
5: 5 hunters of the apocalypse being blokes!

:)

For those who dont know..Torch boy / Laughing man is my brother in cups Giovani [BMB]. He was hilarious on the weekend and earned his nicknames with much skill! A top bloke and a gentleman. Ray Morgan, another top bloke and a gentleman had a few [but not messy] and was in fine form [I'm currently in the middle of his 'dont like list' - this message may get me to the top and beat Gio' :)] . The 5 hunters are Allan Driver / Max Gardam / Des' ? / Ian ? / Ray Morgan...if you didn't know they were friends, you'd swear they were life long enemies. What they hung on each other had me in hysterics...if you know the expression 'p1$$ing myself laughing' then you get the picture. These are all BMB clubbers...must be something in the water :shrugs:

But seriously...

How about some workshops as well? I'd stay sober for that. But the trivia idea sounds excellent - I'm keen on history and expanding my knowledge.

* Disclaimer: The guys I have written about are all fantastic and if I had to hold the line - I would gladly do it with them by my side. I'm sure most of you would know them, and know what I say is true.

** Giovani has now joined Ozbow with the name "The Hillside-Kid". I'm sure you'll all make him welcome as you did me :D

How to survive a fire starting with petrol.
How to survive Vanilla Whiskey.
How to survive Stone Green Ginger wine
How to survive your car rolling down a hill when you in the back seat.

Well i did say that change was on the way for A.B.A are you all sitting down ?????
Lilydale Bowmen have secured an exemption from A.B.A for past members to shoot at this event. Okay you may now take a breath. only 80 archers needed now (120 archers already registered) what you waiting for ????

Kind Regrads Gary just an archer now.

Not long to go now.
For those of you who are concerned that I will have enough arrows to complete a round, well Timbow and I have been busy little beavers tapering and fletching of late.
Forty arrows to break. I might just make it to the second day
If your coming don't forget to register I hear we are up to 160 rego's so far. I believe the stickbowers are pegging out their sites already there should be a good crowd. How about listing here if you plan to come so we can keep an eye out for you. It will be a good time for another Trad shooters photo as well. Look forward to seeing you there.

ATTENSION all Trad shooters Lilydale Bowmen will be holding the (LB 100 TRAD) shoot later on in the year, that will be a two arrow round and scoring as per last years event.

Currently for the upcoming LB100 event (23rd & 24th Jan) it is only a ONE arrow round and by the looks of the registrations it will be almost sold out SO if you want to shoot at this event and still have not registered HURRY UP or you could miss out.

Hi All,

Just to add to Gary's post - The LB 100 Trad shoot will be held 11th & 12th September 2010.

This specific shoot will be trad friendly and consist of shooting two arrows (as per last year).

As for the LB100 in two weeks, I still encourage all trad shooters to register, even though it's one arrow, the course is still reasonable for trad shooters, given the max distance is 30m.

See you all there :D
