Would this event be any good for a beginner?

I have been shooting target for a while but have never been to a field or trad shoot. Very keen to have a go though it has to be said i am pretty crap with the longbow.

There are going to be some divisions.

Others can be more precise but I think its something like, longbow, recurve and primative?
Is the last one a reference to the equipment or the archer, I'm not sure? lol.

See you there, with my woods Tony!

Dewi is right with the divisions as to age for cubs i will get someone else to follow up.
Good to see Dewi offering to play with woods.

I've just been offered a raffle prize that should get a few people buying tickets

I don't know how many of you have noticed but this is to be a 2 arrow event.

The score zones are the same as our 3D challenge/LB100 which is 10, 8, and 5, no horns or hooves.

The twist is we normally shoot 1 arrow, for the Trad event it will be up to two allowed, however......

It will be your last arrow shot that is scored not your first as some of you may be used to. You can just shoot one, but your decision to shoot a second arrow or not must be made before you leave the peg. Once you step off the peg your turn is over.

For example, get a low score with the first arrow and you have the oportunity to improve that score if you wish, although you risk losing that if you shoot a lower score or a miss, only your last arrow from the possible two is counted.

Should throw a few more mind games into the decision. (except for me as all my first arrows will probably miss, lol)

Hope to see you there.

This should be one great outing and no doubt placement as usual will be a good challange. It appears a heap of closet trad shooters are hauling out the gear for this one. Hope like heck I can make it but flight alterations have got me on a plane to Europe on the monday :(

Hi Roadie
Come on the eastern freeway through ringwood tunnel continue on till canterbury rd exit there take exit go left on canterbury road drive a fair way down canterbury rd you are traveling east towards the Dandenog ranges. Come to liverpool rd turn right( there is Red Rooster at intersection). Travel till Pavitt lane turn left travel along till you find gate to club. Camping Friday will be fine I will be there then.
There will be catering during the weekend from Sat morning. Normally Breaky Egg and Bacon, Lunch Salad rolls, pies, cakes etc Dinner Sat probably a roast and dessert. Drinking okay. Shops are not far away if needed.
see you there Tonyj
