I'll try to make this my first trad event. :D
Having seen photos of the last castle clout, I've been waiting for the opportunity to
attend one.
What are the rules regarding equipment: Aluminium arrows etc.?

Should be a good one! :D
Agreed Hue - I believe it was a target recurve with rest & plunger.. Not to take anything away from her ability as she is a good shot and obviously very well practiced.
Cheers,
Matt

actually we have longbow, traditional, and barebow recurve, horsebows in the barebow recurve section.

we will also be running the junior sections again, and would love it if heaps of kids come along again, it was great to see them all last year and the local TV and newspapers really pushed it

Hi Pete

Hope you made it back in one piece from the Masters. It was a great shoot wasn't it (especially if you like wind)? I'll treasure my clout silver won with the longbow.

My lady and I are planning on coming up for the Great Southern. The last time I rode over on the bike from Adelaide, so the trip up from the Peninsula should be much quicker this time. Thanks Gavan for the flyer with the different events. Dawn should do well in the Indoor at least, it being her field of victory at the National Indoor.

Any chance of getting a breakdown of which events are programmed for which days? We might not be able to stay for the whole time.

Pete

Looking forward to seeing the new arrows. I remember your pretty ones from previous years.

They won't be as exciting as some of the others because I've been a bit slack. But they'll do. Theme this time is Black Griffin.

See you all tomorrow.

one day to go, alsways look forward to this shoot, as its the only one I still shoot my longbow at.

now to the bad news, hopefully there are a lot of people coming, however we have only received 5 entries outside of club members, and this has concerned us regarding the catering for everyone, so this year the banquet will be toned down to a BBQ, this means we dont have to spend $400 on meat for a few people in case we dont get many entries. The price will be less, but the food will be plentiful, and still includes desert.

I apologise for this, but we do need entries to give us numbers to organise the meat.

Back to the good news, the castle is set up and hopefully everyone will bring their shields for the battle clout. the weather looks good (very unusual), the targets are ready, and we are looking forward to you all coming.

The TV and newspaper crews will be there as well.

the clubroom will be open from about 2pm today

see you all there
Peter

PS we have an unusually large flock of mosquito's at the moment, so it would be a good idea to bring your favorite repellant. we have been thinking of using them for the bowbird event.

well a great weekend, good time had by those who came, numbers were down but scores were not.

Lady Sam is Grand Champion again, even shooting longbow this time
with
Ben Brunton as the Junior Grand Champion again.

Thanks for all those members who put in the hard yards.

Big thanks to Scrubbull for setting up and running the Knight Shoot, it was a lot of fun. His new trailer (mega horsefloat lol) is very well set up.

Abaci's new arrows were her usual excellent work.

see you all next year
Peter
