Leongatha Medieval Society's annual archery comp 19th April

#1 Post by Len » Thu Jan 29, 2009 9:41 am

Yep its on again at Mossvale park, Leongatha. We'll be having quite a big 3d shoot this year as everyone seems to really enjoy it as well as our usual trad style shoot as part of the comp. There will be the usual sausage sizzle at lunch time ( with plenty of bread Tony ). We'll post more details closer to the date :)

Ah a sausage sizzle with "bread" and 3d I'm up for that.
Good one Gastro Boy. Theres nothing like a good Chicken Pizza the night before a shoot is there Len. I hope we will see that Yew tree in action. It will be good to visit Mossvale again.

What is the nearest place to camp.

Hi Rod, there are maps and directions on our website ( http://www.lms.asn.au/ ).
As for camping I will have to put the thinking cap on, there is a caravan park in Leongatha that is only ten minutes from Mossvale. I'll have to get back to you :D

This is going to be a great event with the combined resources of LMS and the Black Griffins it is sure to have more on offer than ever before. I for one am looking forward to shooting the surrounds of Mossvale park once again.

I'm really looking forward to this event too Len.

Apart from the 25 target 3D shoot in the arvo, what other sorts of events do you have in store for us? :D

There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

We've settled on the events and we will be shooting ; The Crecy, a very long range target shoot ( almost a clout event )
The Royal Hunt , a 25 target 3D course
Wand , the traditional hitting of a stick.
The warbow comp will be held within the Crecy shoot but not the Royal Hunt, we can't really afford to shoot our 3D targets with warbows and bodkin tipped arrows :)
There will be prizes/trophies for Trad bows, Historical bows and warbows and archer of the day for men, ladies and U/16 and prizes also for the kids in U/12

I shot all my good shots on last weekend so I will be coming to watch Timbow whip a few a***s with his new bow from the Hardgainer Archery Company. It is a toss up between Mick Smith, Hardgainer, Crow Creek11 and Gundy who has owned and sold on the most bows.
Should be a good day with a few Lilydale old F**ts coming , that should include the newest old F***t Hue  . Theres a rumour that Hue makes a good cake, if he produces I will bring the brewed coffee
see you there

Ahhhhhh I am starting to feel that Hues reputation for a good pastry is Urban Myth  . Maybe a tray or two at the LMS shoot would go a long way to putting this one straight. :)
