What a fantastic day!! Well done to everyone that came and made the day a huge success, thank you to Len for helping organise and thank you to all those that helped set up /pack up.
I have uploaded a few photos to my ( morgan) gallery on www.lms.asn.au , at least as many more to come. Please keep in mind this was the first time i have used my new camera in full manual mode. I took a little video footage too so i will do my usual vid as soon as time allows

Yes, well done Morgan! It was a fantastic day indeed. It's always a pleasure to shoot with the LMS boys, not that most of you had much time for shooting today. It's hard to run a shoot and compete too. Well done also to Len and the rest of the society members who made today possible. You did a wonderful job.
Nice photos too Morgan. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them, especially some of the 3D round.

There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.
Re: Leongatha Medieval Society's annual archery comp 19th April
Thankyou to everyone who came along to our comp and made it such a success, our biggest turnout of archers in the three years we've been running it.
Thankyou to Wildwood Archery for being the event sponser, good onya Gav.
A special thanks to Hue for providing the afternoon tea, sensational Hue, thankyou very much .
I'll put up a list of all the winners later on when I've got a bit more time.

yes indeed a fabulous day, perfect weather, terrific events and great friends.
Great to see the kids getting on and building friendships so well too.
Thanks of course to all those who had a hand in the setup and great photos Morgan and the other photographers Im sure to see follow. It's very hard to shoot and capture the day and its a sacrifice to those who choose to focus on the capture rather than shoot at all, so the rest of us get to see the memories. Much appreciated.

Morning all, still recovering from yesterday, couldn't sleep due to the excitment of pulling off one of our best events to date!
I have added more pictures, this time from the 3d hunt- a much harder event to take photos of than i thought!
I will just add a thankyou to our sponser for the day, Wildwood archery. ( www.wildwoodarchery.com.au ) . A great place for all your trad archery bits and pieces.

Thanks for a fun day guys. Pitty I couldn't stay for the wand and presentations (it's a long and tiring motorbike ride back to Craigieburn) but I had a great time hunting through the 3d round and catching up with familiar faces.
Hope to see you next year

Hey Abaci was great to catch you at the shoot, and what a shoot!
The LMS crew really know how to turn it on, fine autumn weather, no wind, very well run event and a good catch up with all the familiar faces. The 3D was excellent, Len (course setter) giggled his way around the course at all the groaning at the missed targets, there were some toughies! It was great to see so many kids/families attending, pushing the numbers up to 60. The kids LOVED the 3D.
The Crecy was very inivated and tested everyones skills by stradling the line between clout and target. And how good was it to see a warbow catergory! Seeing the big bows in action in the Crecy round was awesome, the number of WBA members is growing!
thanks LMS, already looking forward to the next one

Just thought I'd pop in and say a huge thanks to everyone who made me feel so welcome, especially to Hue, also to Tony and Gavin for helping me throughout the day. Thanks to Emma, Libby and two others who's names I've forgotten (ack! ) for taking it in turns for the clout when the line got crowded.
I had a fantastic time and will definitely be back next year.
Kudos LMS folk.

A big thank you to all LMS members for putting on an excellent event.
I was hoping you guys where going to be in traditional dress. I have had a look on your web site and although not my caper I still hold an interest in the historical stuff. I had the pleasure of shooting with Sir John, Leigh, Ros, Tom and Tom and had a great day and hope to see you all there next year.

Hi Tahl
Was great to see someone new (yeah its not me anymore!
A perfect time and place to borrow bows and get an idea of what you need.
Im glad someone has found a use for Hue, Tony and Gav:) no seriously great blokes and you cant be in better hands.
Certainly hope to see you AND your partner on the line again soon.
Steve G
are u suggesting the LMS garb is better to look at than my ultra bright orange shirt!!! I was hoping to dazzle the better shooters into missing more often :lol
Twas indeed great to hold the line with the likes of Sir John and Tom etc and see the warbows thump out the tree trunks.
Len
That standing bear was a cracker of a target. Certainly sorted out the bravehearts from the whimpettes:)

i'm sorry you were under the weather there TonyS and you did miss out. sorry, but you gotta be there!
great day LMS, got it all together and what a turn out.
big cheers to the boys and girls at that club for the product they created and in particular to Len, i know you were suffering with an acute case of "over-done the port" syndrome, you were a real trooper and perhaps next time, we can get the big bows to actually hit what we aim at!
TonyJ, great company and thanks for the lift and all me mates whom i caught up with especially Timbow. can't keep that cheeky smile of your face when we talk on our favourite subject!:)

Re: Leongatha Medieval Society's annual archery comp 19th April
Just to reiterate what everyone else has said we all had a great day as well and not one to be missed
Damn cops had a huge booze bus on the way home causing is to take an hour to get from the end of the Eastern to Flemington Rd, and no we didnt get pulled up before you ask.
We all had a great day, I must say I was a little dissapointed about not dressing up ( the rest of the family wernt of course) isnt many shoots we dress up for these days and my medieval clothes cost more than my everyday clothes.
But as always Leongatha put on a spectacular day we have only missed one of these shoots(when we were in Europe) and have always loved the competition and fantastic fun at Leongatha, and when I look back to the days of always getting 2nd because no matter how bad I shoot there were always only 2 women it was absolutely incredible to see so many women there. Len I would love to know the final numbers.
I mean women came from everywhere Beatrice got up at 4am to come down now thats dedication.
Anyway had a wonderful time great to catch up with everyone, Leigh mentioned something about a Griffins shoot in May and we have 2 shoots in August so the fun will go on and on and on and on

Mark I loved your modern 21st century garb mate!
I was just thinking that the LMS held in 2209 a.d. might be a bit dazzling If they pick up on the shirt as being typical of the clothing worn today.
Certainly you might be a bit of a trend setter and I was hoping to fend off the inevitable.

Ha thats funny hadnt thought of that. Some historian in 2209 finds a record of that day and sees me in my garb and tries to recreate it on mass. ooohhh deary me.
It is a bit of a dazzler but its just so comfy no matter what the weather throws at me. Ill have to see if I can find one similar but in a colour a little kinder on the eyes.

Hey guys, i quickly knocked together a video showcasing the comp. The first minute is slideshow pictures then it goes to video with a bit of 3d at the end. Oh and the wand comp isn't on it, that may come as a 'special feature ( ) '.
Go to the club website http://www.lms.asn.au and look for the link on the archery page .
I'll post some photos later too

Great Video and it beats the hell out of most of them. It is on my hard drive and I will burn it to a DVD later today. It is good enough that I will watch it many times.
