To Trish or someone at the HVTA
When will the gate be open for early arrivals.
As four of us Mecican's will probably arrive there Thursday arvo as we did last year.

Hi All

Rod, to answer your question, the gates will open Wednesday.

We at HVTA spent the weekend getting the grounds ready for the Gathering.

We are expecting quite a few archers this w'end.

The weather for the past few days have been wet, but I have been keeping an eye on the forecast and they say that it will be overcast with showers on the coast.

Please don't let the wet stuff put you off, as you know we at HVTA put up with it all and still have a GREAT time.

This Gathering will go ahead, rain, hail or shine (hopefully plenty of shine) as we don't have another w'end to postpone it to.

The October long w'end will be our charity shoot for Bonnie Babes.

We look forward to seeing you all this w'end. Drive safe for those who are travelling from a far and as of Thursday night, here in NSW it will be double demerrits.

If you wish for anymore info, please call me on 0249664347 or mobile 0438664347.

Trish.

Excuse my ignorance, I just noticed "broadhead range" on the flyer.
Does this mean I will need a set of broadhead arrows? I have the bits but wont get them made in time, if so ill have to sit this one out.

I have my set of 6 flu flus (plus a spare)
and a dozen standard bullet head arrows. Im just gonna have to survive with that :)
"I am the arrow..the arrow is me...together as one...I fly to thee"
"the stick maybe crooked and the string hath no form,
then married by bowyer, transforms when first drawn"
"twang....thud"

you have to be 18 or over for broadhead range. one shot at each target. might be able to lend you an unmatched set how long do you need them and what poundage is your bow?
Only took 5 last year and it was enough but take pliers etc as they put the targets near trees / with trees across them

16 yrs & over for the broadhead range, gold coin donation.

Just remember though, that this range does not go towards your total score with the rest of the shoot.

Kevin, you may need to hang onto your broadhead arrows as last year you shot quite a few trees.

I knew you would bite......I bet a mate that you would do so with evidence within 24 hours....you are good Trish. Yep killed every tree I hit [3] but declined to cape them out.
However in my defense I got each one out without harm.
I also retrieved a number of other archers' broadheads with only one broken in the attempt[Trevor's I think]. Tip: carry a quality multitool...OR shoot well, two of my tree hits were bounce offs the back.

Hey Kevin

I hope it was worth it, too much on my mind to think what you were possibly thinking. (I've been going to put the photo on for some time, and today was that day)

I look forward to seeing you again, even though I only saw you 2 weeks ago at Wisemans.

Weather update: the sun shone today,no rain, hopefully it stays that way.

Steve the Mystery stew will be on Friday arvo ready in time for those early birds.

The rain isn't much to worry about, the skies seam to be clearing at present.

I'm on my way out to the club now to set up camp.
Tomorrow there wil be a few Queenslanders arriving.

I will be keeping up to date reports until Friday morning, after that ,I won't be able to read any new posts re the Gathering.

All inquiries can be made to my mobile 0438664347.

No one seems to worry about that....as Steve says.
There are only a couple of kids divisions, male/female, open...I think that is it.

The open mens top 5 shootout at the end last year was longbows and recurves against each other....Steve won with a longbow in the mens.
Same formula at the Best of the Best.

We are really shooting against our own expectations.
Once I hand my score sheet in I wait to watch the shootout.....there are some pretty awesome performers there.....with the top 20 it would not matter what bow type they shot with. You would have more chance slowing them up by buying them a few dozen drinks each night and I m not convinced toxins would work either.

Hi All

Just returned from the club, things are starting to look great.

We had no rain today, but it looks like we may get a little tonight. So far the w'end is looking good, weather wise.

We had 2 queenslanders (Canadians) turn up today, they came from mexico, on a bit of a holiday. They also attended the Wisemans shoot last month.

Steve, don't worry mate, plenty of Mystery stew to go around.
Drive safely Rod & watch out for the boys in blue.

Trish.

All is well, plenty of room for everyone.

Looked at the forecast tonight & I must say, the weather is looking great as long as the Mexicans leave the wet stuff behind

Spent most of the day at the club today, things are looking great.

There are approx 20 plus people at the club already. Most I've seen on a Thursday ever. Mexicans, Canadians, Welshman ets.

As Jeffro said, weather is lookin' great for the w'end.

hi all
i have been given permission to come to the muster but only for one day. i was wondering if there is an itinery of events that could be viewed? so i may choose the best day.
this will be my 1st muster and i will be attending as a spectator and potential shopper only. am i able to just drop in and have a look.
events that are of particular intest to me is the knife and axe throwing and any custom knife displays that may be onsite.
i hope this weekend is a good one for all that attend.

Hi Geoff, Pretty sure the axe and knife would occur on saturday arvo.
Saturday night and arvo is when the crafters guild display occurs.
You can do the shooting events in the order you please over the weekend, broad head range may be on both days.
See you there. Steve

For the record:
In our group.....
Lance Watson and Steve Jaworth batled for the most number of dead broadheads atacked by moving trees. I think Lance, LongbowSteve and Steve J won the Good Samaritan Arboralist award jointly for cutting overhanging branches in the path of the arrows......Mark and I appreciated shooting after these talented gardiners.
Steve J impressed me so much by cleaning everyone's muddy points behind his bent knee but he did not continue that on the broadhead range......he must play a lot of golf because he found more arrows belonging to other people than those he misplaced. Oh and Mark has only ever lost a couple of arrows in his life I seem to recall........great shoot
