Sorry Gundy

I don't have photos but if you goggle Pavitt Lane The Basin and go for maps and the ask for satellite you will see where Pavitts travels from Liverpool it crosses Sheffield using the map scale travel about 300 mts east you will see a smallish structure with both a plain metal roof and part green coloured roof set in the forest zoom in that is the club rooms and the clear ground is where you will camp. As to the course there are several courses on site as I understand they are using a combination of from the courses. Gazzwah was up there tonight marking out the course.
Sorry can not help further
Cheers TonyJ

I had the pleasure of attending the LB100 on Saturday and it was fantastic ! I have never seen so many archers before and so many tents since camping at Tidal River many years ago. A wonderfull varity of 3d targets set in great surroundings. A big well done to the organisers and I wish I could have stayed longer .
Hmmmmmmm.............

Yes Gundy, it was great to be able to finally catch up. The first photo that I posted has nearly all the members of Ozbow who attended the LB100 in it.

It was the most impressive competition that I've ever attended. There were so many people there, so many large and expensive 3D targets and the grounds were just superb. The LB100 was very well organised and a credit to all involved.

Anyway, heres some more photos ...

It's fun to look at other people's photos, as you don't know about their experiences as you travel within your own little shooting group. Thanks Gundy. It's somehow reassuring to know that other shooters missed plenty of targets too. The sheer scale of some of those targets made estimating the ranges extremely difficult, so it's little wonder that many shot under them, I know I often did.

I didn't get many photos of other groups shooting, as the group in front were using compounds. I only managed one shot of the group shooting behind us (behind the photo of the howling wolf).

Before this shoot, the most impressive 3D target I had seen was a sitting down elk at the Morwell shoot. Just seeing the huge moose and water buffalo made it worth making the trip.

Like wow fantastic!! thanks for the photos ill get some of ours up ..as soon as we unpack and find the camera ;) Was just brilliant to get to know you guys and learn some stuff along the way. I hear what you say Mick about not knowing the other little stories that went with other groups.. we need like a roving spy cam or something to capture some moments. Like when my 2nd last arrow splintered into a thousand bits or when you miss something as huge as the elk or miss the massive belly of a deer but somehow manage to hit the 1inch profile of its leg!!

Words cant express the thanks that must go to the organisers and even the wheelies who gave us a little competition to keep our interests up ;)

Great food, great surroundings, great mates, great targets. aint nothin better.

Hi all,

We got home in a record 45 minutes, unpacked and collapsed. It was a wonderful weekend, all of the kids have said it was the best archery weekend they have attended and I think they have been to about 12 now so thats a pretty good accomplishment. We also thought it was great, there were a few teething problems but they were easily overcome. The camping grounds were excellant, such a well run event, the people helping out were wonderful and everyone participated Lilydale deserve total congrats on the running of the event. The food was great and very well priced and having the drinks out on the hot course was a great touch. I enjoyed the social atomosphere the people and the course, my shooting well maybe one day I will learn how...............

Mick, make sure you organise to get Kaitlins medal and cap, having the caps printed with thiee placings was a lovely touch, Katharine is as proud as punch with her hat that says champion 2009 I'd doubt I will get it off her for the next week.

It was great to catch up with everyone from Ozbow and the traditional events and see all the familiar faces at once. It was also nice to meet other shooters even those that are still using their training wheels, maybe Santa can bring them all new real bows for christmas. We will be there next year for sure.

See you all at the next event - I think its Leongatha in April .........................................

Hey I heard that Gundy shot so badly he sold his new bow
I know this because I bought it
But it did not help me either, a great bow I bought says a not so great archer.

What a weekend, yes I belong to Lilydale Bowmens but gee didn't they do a brilliant job. The people who put together and maintained the event should be really proud of themselves, they really gave 100%. And even when we pushed the Longbow 100 to the edge with Gary(gazzwah) it was all in good fun. To put names to faces who we know online was brilliant.

A few of us were chewing the fat towards the end and the following suggestion sounded really good. Next Year we must have an Ozbow banner and get the trad gang to set up in a camp area. As many have said to have the trads get together, share information and ideas was great. It was commented on by many including the wheelies.
Damien( the Pres. of Lilydale) comment on the great response of the Trad community to the event was well stated. And for Gary (gazzwah ) to have a slip of the tongue at the final gathering to call it the Longbow 100 was f***ing brilliant .
Once again well done Trad Community and well done to Lilydale Bowman to Damien and his great team.
Cheers TonyJ

WHAT A SHOOT! that was without a doubt the most well run, well attended and down right awesome event I've been to. To all at Lilydale what fine example of what a club can achieve with plenty of hard work and dedicated people working as a team to achieve something great. They have set a new benchmark in competition. The ABA should be very proud to have clubs such as this in their stable. And how good were some of those targets!?

What a roll out, 170ish archers (39 LONGBOWERS and 24 recurvers I think) there and almost all the Vic crew from ozbow in attendance. How great to put all the face and names together AND get that ellusive group photo. I enjoyed the social aspect as much as the shooting, I managed to catch up with almost every person I ever shot with there! finally how refreshing to see so many kids and families attending a shoot. There was something on offer for ever archer there.

This one will be long talked about I am sure. Now lets use our good experiences to spread the word and back Lilydale for next years shoot! (they should be just recovered by then).

again thanks to all who made it happen.
