Mr Ripples folks just like to get down to the shoot early and get camp set early catch up with mates and perhaps party a bit ahead of the shooting . I have made noises to try and have a coloured animal paper target range set up for archers to have a shot on the friday next year .

Just checked the weather channel and it appears that any rain will be well north of us in the Wide Bay region [ you folks leave it behind thanks ] . We have not had a drop overnight and the shy's are partly cloudy now . Saturday and sunday are forecast as a mostly fine with few showers - no problems see you all soon .

regards Perry

Thanks for the picture you just burned into my mind Brett . We have a target planned that may or may not resemble that picture .

Went Saturday

It drizzled on the way up. It stopped as I arrived. Five minutes before the shoot started it started drizzling again. And stopped a couple of minutes before the end of the round. I went and had a couple of Dagwood Dogs and a Coffee (the Best in Town). Then the drizzle started again....

However it was great shooting with the mob. Note to spectacle wearers either a very brod brimmed hat or give up and shoot at the blur. Someone should ask Shrek about his fashionable new hat ... needs to be worn at a jaunty angle.

Project for the next few months - St Charles quiver from Poly-pipe. Keep arrows dry.

Sunday

Went to another shoot - it went great guns until the rain started......

First up I would like to thank everyone that attended the Corrival - the weather could only be desribed as miserable . We had 97 of the best folks shoot over the weekend . The best attendance we have had at any Corrival - thanks for your patience and good humour in the wet and the slop .

I arrived home yesterday and discovered my darling daugthers had accidently infected my computer with a virus that has caused a lot of damage , windowswill not even start up . I will try to get to this internet cafe everyday and stay in touch until my tech mate can reformat my computer , favours take time .

Everyone got up the sloppy hill pretty well as in the hour before they where ready to leave the rain let up . There was some entertaining moments with the 2 wheel drive cars slipping about but the track has surprisingly little damage , the grass will probably grow back as if it was just top dressed .

I suspect the rain has kept all the digital camera's under wraps for the weekend and photo's will be rare . Never know though ,I will see what I can find - should be some of the yahoo barfly's and some of mud covered people somewhere .

Every year I look around and pick up what folks are talking about with a veiw to constantly improving the Corrival .Next year I will ask for the reins back with the format and courses and fix the issues caused through the rain etc . I would like to thank Gary for the effort he put in with seting the courses and format this year - top effort mate .

The canteen staff and other volunteers did a great job with the tucker and drinks keeping everyone well fed and watered throughout the weekend . Thanks ladies for keeping the new amenities presentable and the many who moped out the mud they brought in .

Don't worry Shrek Iwill take you up on the Jimmy , perhaps will some of the airs and graces I learned from the cultural attache himself .

Catch everyone next time I'm at this internet cafe or when my puter is fixed .

regards Perry

Thanks for the photos. Its good to see what our northern cousins are up too. It looks like you still enjoyed yourselves. Gee it looks like it might have rained, any chance you could send some south, not on the weekend of 1/2 November the Great Southern shoot is on that weekend and they have had their share of rain at that event.
Thanks again for the photos.
Cheers TonyJ
