Traditional Clout Championships Saturday,October 4th Geelong

#1 Post by Southern Fox » Tue Jul 29, 2008 11:33 pm

There will be a flyer to come but just to give everyone the heads up, for those who cannot get enough clout, the Black Griffins Traditional Archery club in Geelong will be hosting what we hope will become an annual event. We now have a new permanent home with more than enough room for several clout ranges.

This tournament will allow for an Open Mens and Womens for those who are experienced clout archers and what we are terming a "light bow" category for those who have little experience with clout or shoot a bow of a lower poundage. This will allow a broad cross section of enthusiasts a chance to be competitive.

Fun will be encouraged but this is also a serious event which will follow on from AA/AV State and National clout events (same scoring rules will apply).

Any traditional bow will be allowed however there will be categories and if an archer wants to be eligible for a place wood arrows will be mandatory. Archers can use aluminium arrows but won't be able to receive awards.

So stay tuned for up dates.

I really appreciate that Grahame,

If you could do that when the flyer comes out also that would be great. Ta

Fantastic, we will now have an event that will give trad archers a lot of cred and prestige to rival the AA or VA events :)

We came to the conclusion that a good clout match is simply too much fun to enjoy it only once a year at the state titles, so we've decided to add a second big day of clout to our calendar. We have timed this event to be approximately 6 months away from the AV event, so the longest we have to wait between major clout events will now be 6 months instead of a full year.

We're planning to make this event a serious addition to the traditional tournament calendar. It promises to be an event that will allow our best trad shooters to 'strut their stuff' with fully traditional gear. We will be offering exciting prizes and a guaranteed day of fun and excitement.

So, to all you clout fans out there, be there.

There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.
