LMS Christmas shoot

#1 Post by Len » Mon Dec 10, 2007 6:11 am

Leongatha Medieval Society held an end of year break up shoot yesterday and awarded its archer of the year trophies with both the mens and ladies not being decided until the end of yesterdays comp, so close was the shooting through out the year. Winners were; mens - Anthony Marty and ladies - Tristan Smith. Well done guys.
We were lucky also to have two of the best archers around to come and share the day with us; White Hawk ( Gav) and Timbow ( Tim ) thanks for coming guys. And a big thankyou to the sword crew who came up from Werribbee for some sword work with our non-archers.
Thanks to Sherrie and Lloyd for bringing their barbie !
It was a great day and I'm looking forward to getting the shoots up and running again early next year. Will get Morgan to post some photos later on today.

Thanks Len ,
Riley and l had a great time ,and what a fantastic place to hold a tournament reminiscent of an old english forest.
I was impressed by the sword crew and there gear,as much as l didnt finish shooting the archery round,l could here the clash of metal swords and l was gone ,l took plenty of pics of the swordsmen as one day when l get up the courage l would like too give it ago.maybe!!
Len l was also very impressed by your bows that you make and hope to make a couple of them one day also.
The power and speed of that warbow 80-90lb or what ever it was ,was fantastic, and yet very smooth to draw!l guess being 80inches long helps too.
Look forward to shooting there with you guys again next year.
Great event.

Cheers ,
Timbow.

I concur with Timbow, a very well run event, a good solid club, lots of interest in archery from new people and youngy's and most important, lots of fun!

Leongatha have managed (thanks in no small part to Len and the other LMS archer boys and girls) to straddle the line between re-enacting and sporting/target archery very well. They are now producing traditional archers of a real competitive level leading the way for other clubs of their like.

well done guys, its been a great year.

G'day Hue, you're most welcome to come down and shoot with us any time as is everyone else :) LMS loves the clout but you may have trouble getting us there at that time as we have all sort of 'nocked off' for the year. Sorry mate.
