Hope to see you all there!

We will be starting the shoot with a dedication to some of our mates no-longer with us. Arrows will be shot to start the shoot in memory of Ron Willis, Henry Rask and Bill Baker.

Bill has only recently passed away and our thoughts go out to his family.

If you are attending the shoot and would like to loose an arrow for the above archers or for another archer that is no longer with us please notify me via e-mail. I will need the persons details and a photo.

We think its a nice way to remember our mates that are no longer with us,

Uncle Les

Hey Guys, The Mountain Men(and one daughter) had a great time. A very challenging field course on the side of the Mountain with steep shots quite often with saplings placed in the way so the only shot available was on one knee or leaning over.
It was great to meet Graeme K and Jeffro and see their craftsmanship.
Jamie, sorry I didnt catch up with you, I would have loved to be there for the 2 days.
It was good to meet John Macdonald of AMSO, He has been supporting the Mountain Archers for years, making hundreds of arrows at short notice and giving us freebies to raffle :) It was good to confirm my suspiscions that he is a really nice guy
Thanks Les, Robert, Nick and all those who worked to put on this shoot, we will be back, hopfully with a larger contingent next time as we are doing our best to help Trad Archery grow. Steve

Trad Barebow Challenge HVTA

#9 Post by longbowinfected » Mon Sep 03, 2007 1:08 pm

Absolutely bloody awesome event.
Thanks to Rob, Mrs Rob, Les, Mrs Les, Nick and crew as well as sponsors / supporters.
I like to try things by degrees and my expectations for my first trad event were surpassed. My daughter Jessie at age 11 does not like to ordinarily leave her comfort zone. She shot her first field ever and first longbow event ever and second event ever and it really helped her to realise how much FUN it was to test yourself.
Prior to this she would not move off the 10 & 20 metre mark shooting at 122cm faces. Culture shock!!!!
No more going to events by myself with the boys now.....one less seat in the Subaru.
never complain....you did not have to wake up....every day is an extra bonus and costs nothing.

Hi Graeme, I shared another bottle of your wine last night, I believe it was the Sauvignon Blanc? MMM, The red we devoured on the sunday before I found out it was your wine but that too was a nice drop. I regret not grabbing one of the Rose' bottles off the raffle table now.
I dont have a problem with alcohol, this is research. :) Steve

I am in Australia from Italy for a vacation and have been invited by Rob to this event with my family. The atmosphere in Europe for archery meeting are very different, done to the crown of too many archers and the use of having soo many rules, restriction and competition stress.
After 40 years in competitions around the world, I mast tell all you been there, first organizers and then all the mates shooting, a BIG THANK YOU!! I never remember such a nice feeling about an archery meeting.
The shooting courses were great, the place stunning enjoyable, the organization very good and the friendship simply GREAT!! Diane and Sue (wifes of Rob and Les) have been wonderfull in coking and Wendy & Graeme have token there the wine they produce to add the last touch of beauty.
We in Italy do normally have competition of just one day, on Sundy and all are rush hurry to be back on our incredible crowned higway to hope to be home safely. To stay two day shooting, enjoing the night campfire talking with all new friends under the full moon light will be something difficoult to forghet.
We have to go bck in Italy next week and are quite sad about. We are working on the project to move in Australia definitely in the next to live here and we hope to meet all you soon again.
Thank you,
Fil

Good to see that Filippo got some photos of me doing what I am good at --- sitting around eating and drinking and just generally hanging around. We all have our expertise.
