4th or 11th works for me. The 4th is the only Sunday where I don't have an all day Saturday event on before it though :)

the 11th is my preference but worst case I will be sick or have to do a quick roster shuffle.

Well then, shall we lock it in Eddie? Say meet at Hoddywell at 10am and aim for both rounds like last time?

Does anyone mind if I invite some other friends from my sword fighting group?

Sounds like a plan to me. No probs with me for other GC members to shoot with us. Would be good to catch up. Should have some new arrows and the bow holster finished by then too.

Happy shooting :)

Thank you for a fun shoot!

#77 Post by MaylandL » Sun Feb 11, 2007 5:10 pm

G'day all

From both myself and Anysia thank you for a fun shoot everyone. It was great to catch up with Clinglish, and Archangel and meet Josh. Clinglish, the Fox and the Horn Bows are joy to shoot. Very fast, stable, quiet, with outstanding cast and deadly! You are a very luck man. Now we just have to get you some wood arrows ;)

Archangel, thanks for showing us your bows. I am looking forward to your next projects.

Definitely looking forward to the next get together.

Happy shooting :)

There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Well, I ain't a fella but I did get some photos.

I have to admit, I did something a bit .,..empty headed. I remembered to pack the camera, made sure the battery was fully charged, and put memory card in safety case.

Brought the camera onto the trail to take pics, only to find out I left the memory card in the car (sheepish grin)

I did manage to get some of us back at the shack. :)

Was really great to meet up with everyone. :D

I have resized them down for posting here, but will upload them to online photojournal full sized if anyone wants them.

Thanks Anysia. Gee, I didn't realise that Hoddywell's was so large and had so many facilities, even an indoor range. You guys look like you had fun trying each others bows. I think I even recognised one of my old bows there in one photo. 8)

Yeah, but the usage of each others' was for the guys only. They each got a try of "Sylvie" The Scythian. If I had try to draw one of those #55+ bows, I probably would have pulled my arm out of the socket! ;)

It was a lot of fun. And Yes, I admitted to being pouty and petulant about missing the first Hoddywell get together. Hey, nobody's perfect.

G'day Clinglish/Ole Silver

Anysia's Old Scythian bow is a real gem to shoot. Pound for pound think its a better shooter than the Avarian. With the right arrows, its shoots very well. I keep threatening to "borrow it" ;)

Mick
Hoddywell is a nice archery park. Check this out: http://www.hoddywell.com.au/
The "indoor range" is only 1 target butt set up for 10m with 2 40cm target. Its used for testing bow set ups.

Happy shooting all :)

Sigh....unfortunately the bright green things I was coughing up over the weekend kept me from joining you :( It probably would have been somewhat distracting trying to aim and loose with me hacking and coughing in the background!

I'm away for 2 months in August-Septermber so if we get another chance to go before then, I'll try and remain healthy! And finally get around to finishing some proper spined and full length arrows for the 50lb selfbow.

Thanks for the pics, and Clint, don't let those trees think you've gone soft mate or they'll never show you any respect hahaha
