Back From The Hunter Vally Gathering

#1 Post by Graeme K » Sun Jun 11, 2006 5:49 pm

Only managed to spend Saturday there because Wendy's mother was unwell and we had to come home Sat night.
The 3D shoot was great with interesting target placement in a varied range of country. Some of which was basically wetland, problem was that the weather was making it very wet land. Still it was a great event and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves despite the weather. Unfortunately I have no photos for you because I did not take my own advice to buy a waterproof camera which would have been a necessity given the score sheets were turned to papier mache.
Hopefully someone else will have done better on the photo front.

Graeme

Sounds like it was a wet weekend down there to - see my post about having a good weekend weekend. Glad you enjoyed your first shoot anyway.

Just got back from the gathering...... (gotta work tomorrow)

Yeah, it was a bit on the wet side on saturday. Today was much better though, it stayed dry enough to shoot but it was damn cold!! somewhere round 13 degrees and the wind was so lazy it wouldn't even go round ya!! One of the boys from the Tully Bowhunters mob was even getting round in a wetsuit under his shorts and T!

and on a side note.... geeze those guys can put away a few cold ones on a cold night! :D

I didn't take the camera out due to the weather. There were a few that did, maybe they will post em up. I got a couple on the phone cam to tide y'all over for the moment though....

Top one is of Gaz and his daughter Janita with Glen Hines in the background.

Middle is a bearded dragon we found that was so cold it couldn't move. He sat around Gaz's back till he warmed up then jumped. :)

The guy in the last pic isn't wearing dark coloured pants.... thats what you look like when you go walking in a mash looking for wayward arrows and end up belly deep in the swamp!
