Many thanks to a great team and all those Aussie Archers we are delighted to be able to call our friends. An event to be remembered and enjoyed many times over. Looking forward to the challenge, already laid down, by all those who believe the Shield should reside in Australia. Your chance to begin the process of taking it back across the ditch starts at the Outdoors New Zealand Rendezvous (January) 2006. Better come to the selfbow/arrow making workshop the weekend before to ensure you have good gear to shoot with. You can be assured the shoot will be all you expect and more. A big thanks to all those involved in the Gladstone shoot. This Kiwi had a fantastic time and has already started dropping a few hints so that he can be let out again next year (now that the wife has stopped looking over my shoulder - I hope it can be for a little longer to get in a spot of fishing and hunting!!!).

In particular, Bill & Linda, the use of the 'Penthouse' tent and airbed made life a whole heap easier. Perhaps we can locate it a little further away from the 'Honeymoon' suite next year?

Gibbo and Richie - big thanks for helping out with the pickup and drop off from the airport. You chaps saved me a whole heap of hassle (and cash!)

Sue and Steve - looks like you're going to be costing me some money - figure if I'm going to start building these arrows seriously I had better sort out a grain scale and a spine machine. Not to mention the first thing that I did when I got back was to replace my fletching jig! Seriously though, I enjoyed catching up and having a listen to what Steve had to say.

You Aussies sure know how to put on an event and make us Kiwis feel welcome. There was always a friendly face to say hi and have a yarn.

It sounds like a number are keen to head over our way next January. It would be great to catchup with everyone again. Let me know if I can help out at all. I might have to even put in a little practice...
