If any Trad archers are travelling up the coast of Qld give them a call then pop in and say g'day or have a stop over at Chevallan Archery Park and discover the Cooloola region. They are currently being featured on YouCamp: https://youcamp.com/view/chevallan-archery-park

only 9 sleeps to go. :)

The weather for the weekend shoot was fabulous. With cooler nights meaning lovely warm fires reminding us it was winter, however the day time temps were more along the lines of early summer. On Saturday there was the double ended clout range, the popinjay which we discovered, when shot mid morning in winter means you're looking straight into the sun. A 30sec 3D speed round, rolling disks, the moving target and the 25 x 3D target 2 arrow field course round. At the end of the field course was the Hunt Round, however on Saturday it was shot as a Fred Bear Round where a rest of body shot was -5, causing a couple of grumbles. This was shot from the blue peg, with 1 arrow only at each target and was not timed. Field course scores needed to be in by 3pm so the Mystery 10 shootout could be organized. The event is sponsored by Wes and Kaylene Farnham of Tom Grady Real Estate, for a set of custom made arrows. For this particular shoot we looked at all the score totals and found the 10 archers with the smallest variance, which was 30 points, and it did include some of the top archers. The event is shot as a 30sec speed round, however you must shoot the fox within the metal A zone first. It was taken out by Tim Lewthwaite who shot the most scoring arrows. On Sunday there is no muster, so archers can go out a little earlier. We did the rolling disks, the 30 sec speed round, field course and the hunt round which was shot as a 60sec timed event from the orange peg. Once events completed, followed by lunch, the presentations and raffle draw was done. A great weekend was had by all. So until the next one, here are some photos from the weekend.
