Wow.... 10th Anniversary...!

This will be a big one for sure...!!

Anyone who hasn't been to this event must put it on the list of things to do...!!

You won't be disappointed... 8-)
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!

according to the weatherzone:
Fri
Mar 17
Possible shower
25°C
18°C
70%
1-5mm

interpret as 70% chance of bugger all - take a brolly - wind breeze 4km................ not nasty like the previous year.

we've had a couple of showers, and one heavy downpour since yesterday. Other areas around and abouts are getting much more than we are here. There are 2 camps from Vic and 3 from Qld now setup and ready for a fun weekend. If it rains and we get the scorecards we, well so be it, we'll just have fun.
Only 3 sleeps to go. :) and don't forget the bug spray.

there are 2 sleeps to go................ and the mozzies are still around.

Hi, I'll be coming this weekend to the shoot for the first time and I'm looking forward to it! I wanted to ask you if there's any kind of rule against wearing camo? I've been to other shoots where they won allow it for safety reasons but my best (and only) wet weather clothes are in camo so I was wondering if I'll be allowed to use them this weekend.
Cheers.

You could purchase a high visibility safety vest to wear over the camo top.

what a great weekend we have all had. Regardless of the rain and heavy downpours that descended apon us Friday even there was over 110 archers here shooting arrows in the rain. The competition became a non-event once the scorecards all got soaked... and still we all stayed and shot all the events between and during the rain. The clout circle almost went under as the tide well and truly came in. Challenge range was even more interesting than usual with the streams of water flowing steadily down the walking pathways this morning. I managed to take some photo's this afternoon as we went around again after the raffle was drawn and some of the travellors had left which I shall download to share soon.
A big thanks to Robert and Diane for putting the weekend together and to all the workers who helped, and thank you to all of the archers for supporting this event regardless of the weather. This is always one great shoot to get to. Will post the dates for next years shoot soon.
The Memorial shoot is now being held on weekend of Sept 16 / 17, so mark that date on your calendar too.

cheers

Thanks Sue - was to great to catch up with you and Steve and all the others who took the plunge (pun intended). Although the rain may have dampened the ground - it didn't dampen the enthusiasm - and the way I was shooting - glad the score sheets also got drowned - I too thank Rob and Di for all their efforts - and the "chook" for the apple crumble !!

Hi all yes i too echo the thoughts expressed by all; great catching up with people and still had a good time shooting in between downpours and sometimes during them.
Thanks again to to Rob and Di, and certainly Narelle too for the great times and great food.
Withoyt the catering it would have been a bugger trying to cook in the open!
Cheers all

here are a couple of photo's from the weekend. The weather leading into the weekend hadn't been too bad as I had reported each evening. Friday overnight we received about 2inches and then Saturday night we received a further 1".
Our group wandered off in sunshine on Saturday afternoon to do Targets 1 - 10, well by target 5 the clouds had loomed large overhead and down it came. So we had a choice, get drowned walking back to camp or carry on shooting, so we carried on and by Target 10 were almost soaked through. A quick towel down in camp a change into dry clothes and a little lunch. It was amazing to see so many smiling faces around camp, and under the marque many had gathered between showers and were sharing a story or two. Rain just didn't seem to matter, and it was still a great weekend. The speed round was mad more interesting with a flowing stream running straight through the middle of all the targets.
Will let you all know the dates for the 2018 shoot as soon as it is available.
Enjoy the photo's.
