My Thursday pub night will be spent in Kew, fortunately the pub is about 100 metres from the motel.

Will arrive at Wisemans after lunch.

another great weekend shoot at Wisemans Ferry enjoyed by at least 100 archers. Great events, great weather (a little warmer than expected), good food and damn fine company. Many Many thanks to Rob and Diane for putting on such a great shoot.

From next year the Traditional Archery Get-Together will be held on final weekend in March, so next years event will be 25th / 26th March 2017

Will put some photo's up when I get them off my camera and the scores when I find the thumb drive in my bag.

cheers

Pity,

Ozbow is the site where traditional archery events are promoted so maybe posting photos on this site could be more beneficial than on a Facebook page. :Bow

The reason there are photos posted on Facebook is due to ease of posting. There are a number of posts that have multiple photos eg one person has a group of over 120 this takes a matter of 3 minutes to post from go to completing. Ease of use on phones and tablets makes Facebook user friendly. Sorry guys.

Morning All.

Having loaded the odd photo to this site I ask why people put photos on the site?

IMHO They put photos to either show what something looks like, a picture is worth a thousand words, or they want to share experiences, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Why put them on another site that is locked and not accessible to all? Forcing people to use a 3rd party and register, etc. seems a strange choice. However, the photos are the property of the photographer and what they do with them or how they treat them is their choice.

Graham A the offer is there for those who wish to see what it was like, remember the experience or enjoy the occasion. I'm surprised that you of all people question why sharing of photos is required, given the amount of photos you take, maybe you keep them to yourself, a bit sad I think.
As to joining a third party not an uncommon experience, to write here you join, like lots of forums or applications. So what is the problem?
I don't usually post here anymore but I thought I would be helpful by indicating where photos are available, I note a number of people have taken up that opportunity. But being helpful once again has been a negative experience.
The reason I don't post here is the negative responses that are quick to come, not by all but it does occur. It's something that needs consideration as it has cost many a regular over the post few years and considerable people in the past two years. Most slip away quietly and still we cross paths at shoots, fortunately they are not lost to our fabulous sport just to this forum. So with this note I say fair well. See you at a trad shoot soon.

It was a rethorical question.

There is no problem unless you have found one. However, not everyone is a user of Facebook or wants to be a user of Facebook. You have made the decision to place them where you have, that is your prerogative and I have stated so.
