only 2 sleeps to go. Set course out today, speed round 1 done - clout ring marked - hunter round placed, could be changed... speed round 2 to be finished tomorrow. Look good - weather is fine, not too cool, very mild light breeze from time to time. Might lose a couple of participants to the flu. Two camps set up and lots of people coming out tomorrow. Road signs are out. :)

Hi Sue, I know what we are missing and it hurts as much as the head.
We have been looking forward to this shoot for a month, even took 2 days off work to go, and wasted them in the process.
But , tell all that we hope they have a good shoot and enjoy the weekend. If I am right by Sunday I can at least have a shot at the club.

Regards, to all, Ronster

this has to be an event that makes it a 'must' to attend. First class facilities, terrific mowed grounds, and challenging courses set in a picturesque rain forest vestige complete with babbling brook.{ All the better to swallow your arrows!] Had a ball! hope your feeling better Ronster.

Great shoot at Chevallan Archery Park this weekend - shot my 45lb Manchurian bow and I am a little sore tonight but well on the way to a full recovery 9 weeks after open heart surgery.

The Chevallan Park grounds grounds are beautiful, the ranges interesting and challenging and the novelty events numerous - 2 X speed rounds and a hunter round as well as running pig, rolling disc, clout - really special.

Great food and a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere added to make it a cracker event.

A big thank you to all those hard workers who set ranges, made bales, prepared grounds, handled scoring, prepared food and all the other "must dos" that make a shoot like this run so smoothly.

What a great weekend indeed. We couldn't have asked for better weather, it was rather warm.
It was so good to see Tom full of cheer and enjoying himself following his "life upset".
With clear blue skies, happy faces of all the Trad archers enjoying a variety of events, beaut food, great company once again made all the work worthwhile. I shall have some photo's up shortly.
Thanks to all who were there.

cheers

With a little imagination Ron you might be able to envisage - we had the hunt round at the front dam (in different positions, except the croc), the clout, 2 x speed rounds (a new one in the round yard), rolling disks and the 25 3D targets shooting 2 arrows at each. We also held the 166m Long Shot, the winner chose to donate back into the event.
Lots of new positions also found for the next shoot in October....
Here are a couple of photo's I took whilst going around part of the course and also the scores -

not all those who attended were "competing" they were there for the enjoyment of a fun archery weekend a trend that is becoming rather popular :)

Thanks to all the workers for setting up a great weekend.

The interesting events, ranges and relaxing format of the shoot pretty much ticks all the boxes.
