Package details will be available in a few weeks, they normally start at about $950 which is airfare accommodation, and car hire.
Shoot fees are $100, we have got the archery club to keep the fees the same, even thought we will be doing a lot more shooting than they normally do. It will be 4 full days of shooting, plus any chooks you want to shoot while you are here.

that's a great idea - more arrows and you still have a few days to explore. So do we go next year, or do we go over for their 15th shoot, the following year ... decisions, decisions. :)

Mark,

I realise it is early days but the shoot program is a little confusing.

Are there two separate events being run together on the same ranges or are there designated times and days for the two events.

Hi Daryl,

I was speaking to Mark the other day and he advised, the Norfolk Island International 3D shoot is held over the 4 days, as normal, and the Traditional archers must compete in that event. The Traditional Events programme is going to be run as a separate completion, on top of the 3D International. You must compete/shoot the 3D International event. The Traditional Event is not compulsory, however as there is shooting on peoples property and as small a footprint as possible is to be left, I believe they are going to advise for the Traditional Events you shoot timber arrows with steel points. ( perhaps archery golf around the golf course, how great would that be :) )

So in short yes there are 2 separate events, you cannot just enter the Traditional events. The shoot fee is remaining the same, the Traditional archers will have more events.

Daryl what Sue said is about right. Heck she's not that blond after all.
You must shoot the 3d international to be eligible for the Trad Shoot. You can shoot as much or as little of the Trad Shoot as you wish.
There is no extra charge for most of the Trad part of the shoot.
There will be 2 events that will have an extra charge
1. Archery golf on the golf course (green fees $15 - $20)
2. Balls of stone $5 Fee to go to local charity. This is a bit like pork eye or hawk eye with a Norfolk twist. ( P.S this is the one you will want to bring a crap arrow for as you won't get it back)

So the possibility exists that if you don't nominate early enough you will miss out on the trad events.

For those looking at going to the Norfolk Island shoot, it looks like you may not need a passport. This should help bring down the cost for some people.
Below is the info from this page http://regional.gov.au/territories/norf ... ation.aspx

Will I need a passport to travel between Norfolk Island and the Australian mainland after 1 July 2016?
Currently, flights between Norfolk Island and the Australian mainland are considered international flights as the Migration Act 1958 (Cth) does not apply to Norfolk Island.

From 1 July 2016, flights between Norfolk Island and mainland Australia will become domestic flights, but the flights will depart from and arrive at the international terminal.

After this time, passports and visas will not be required when travelling to Norfolk Island from the Australian mainland or from Norfolk Island to the Australian mainland. Non-citizens are advised, however, to carry their passport if flying between Norfolk Island and mainland Australia.

Photographic identification, such as an Australian Driver's License, will be required for clearance through Customs and Immigration.

I have Dibs on being the Dude mate you are more in tune with your feminine side and can cook more betterer than me.

You can shoot steel or brass points. The owners of the properties that we will be shooting on don't want carbon of aluminum arrows left laying around.

"All Traditional Shooters welcome to compete in any of these activities. Shooting in the
3D International event is a requirement before participating in any Traditional event."

I would rather spend my money on trad shoots in the land of Oz, no wheels. :Bow
