Warwick CANCELLED

#1 Post by little arrows » Tue Jun 30, 2015 8:13 pm

With a shoot title like that you can't help being curious - it's going to be a lot of fun, and only 115 sleeps to go for their inaugural Qld Trad shoot which might have some northern inland NSW archers dusting off their Trad bows :)

cheers

can you shoot carbon arrows or is it wood only?

it's a shame that carbons aren't allowed. it discourages participation for the many that shoot and hunt with carbons, IMO. surely they can be in their own class.

numbers participating is more important for our sport.

rant over, i'm off for a hunt.

Hi Sue, so what is the reason?. A number of people have spent quite a bit of time trying to get this going, I for one will be very disappointed considering that the request to run a Trad event came from Warwick club officials in the first place.

I was advised by email only that the shoot was cancelled. Ron I know you and some of the Toowoomba crew on numerous occasions offered assistance. The committee has changed members since with conception of the Trad shoot, whether this has anything to do with it or not I do not know. It is unfortunate for those of us who were going.

keep you eyes on the Trad Shoots 2016 which was originally started by Roadie, as I will be noting changes and confirmations as I get them to next years calendar. http://www.ozbow.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15778

It's a pity the girls soccer seasons would have been over & I was primed ready to go. I guess that's it for me this year nothing else within a few hours of home. I would like to know if it was a committee thing or a governing body decision?

it wasn't a governing body decision - it came from the club itself.

Hi Guy's, I phoned the President of Warwick Archers and left voice message, but he has not seen fit to reply. I did however manage to talk to the secretary who was disappointed to say the least. The main reason is a change of President and it seems that it was just too hard to get it up and running.

So most definitely off. at least this year.
