Chevallan Archery Park weekend shoot

A small group of invited archers came together for the inaugural shoot at the Chevallan Archery Park over the June long weekend to test the facilties and kitchen requirements for the 2 bigger shoots later in the year. This is a new private business enterprise, which is unencumbered of any archery association, held on private property and where Traditional archers are made to feel welcome, at home, and can come together to enjoy each others company, and have a relaxing shoot. As a few of us had decided not to travel to Gladstone we thought it would be great to gather those Traditional archers we knew that lived in the northern NSW, Gold Coast and Hinterland, Darling Downs, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast areas that were not doing any Trad shooting over this weekend, whether that be in Newcastle or Gladstone. I asked the people what they were doing on the weekend and if they already had plans, so be it, I moved on.
There were 40 archers in all who thoroughly enjoyed the 2 full fun days of shooting. We had the Hunt Round, The Clout Range with 4 scores zones, the speed round, Rolling disks, moving target, and 25 x new 3D African targets shooting 2 arrows per target over 2 courses. The Clout was shot on Saturday only, the rolling disks on Sunday only with all other events shot both days. We also had a 180M target that proved to be very safe indeed. The winner of this particular event donated his winnings to the property owner to put back into the next shoot.
The meals were fantastic, the weather beautiful, and all of us had a brilliant weekend.
