Advice for the young and stupid (me) for the Hunter Valley

Well as the topic suggests I'm heading down to the Hunter Valley gathering in June but have no idea what I'm in for.

Can those of you that have been there in the past enlighten a young wet behind the ears trad shooter what to expect, bring etc. Pictures would be great if anybody has any.

Thanks in advance

Bjorn

Hi Bjorn, you are in for some fun, bring some arrows that you don't mind getting broken. If you are over 16yr bring a few broadheads for the broadhead range, some wet weather gear (that you will not need as we have had enough rain to do us) 5 fluflu's and some spending money. That's about it ho and your throwing knife and axe if you have any.
Nothing else Trish?
Hope that helps.

Great thanks,

I have most of that covered will probably try and make up some more woods next weekend if I get some time.

I don't have the knives or tomohawk yet but maybe pick them up when I'm down there I need some better advice on these as it's a bit thin on the ground.... I may start a new thread for that I think.

Looking forward to it :)

There are some people down here that can give you some help with that. There should be someone that will give you a go of there gear anyway.

G'day Bjorn, there's plenty of space to camp too mate. They usually have 2 or 3 ranges plus the broadhead range. Novelties include the hunt, speed round, rolling disk, flu flu and running pig. You'll be glad you came, it's a bloody good shoot.

Great thanks guys,

Dad and I are already committed ( flights and a campervan) so we'll be there, just look for the 2 guys with long hair and a beard that are 30 years apart wondering around trying to find a beer.

Hmmmm I've been warned of this double bit axe business. Sounds like something I have to try.
