Norfolk Island Trad Shoot

I have been ask to put this post here for the Norfolk Island archery club.
As I have just been out on the Island for 3 weeks there was a fair amount of discussion about holding a trad shoot out there.
The shoot would be different from the other shoot they have on the island in July, with a lot more of the island being used to set ranges in all sorts of locations on the island.
eg target range in the ruins at Kingston if island admin let us, clout range from one hill top to the next, 3D ranges set up on private farms, maybe even a popinjay tower with a difference.
The plan is to have it at this stage in the 3rd week January 2016. Package cost about the same as the July shoot for those that have been to that one.
So vote above and let the club know if it is worth while putting it on. The club only has 7 members and they put a lot of work into their shoots.

I'd like to go Mark, but I doubt if I could afford it. How much would it cost, all up?

When we go over we stay in the basic accommodation option about $995 per person from Brisbane which is airfare, car hire and accommodation. Shoot fee is $100 which gets you a fish fry and a few other snacks during the shoot. Pies at the bakery are $4. Evening meals are $20-$30, most of the accommodation has cooking facilities. We budget about $1500 a head, Chook hunting is free.

It would be too expensive for me, I'm afraid. I could go to 10 interstate mainland shoots for that sort of money.

I would go again to the Island, But it means getting a New Passport, will think seriously about it though. It certainly is a Great Place, so much History and love the Old Buildings. Cheers Roadie.

If I'm not in one of the lovely resort destinations I frequent for work, I'm in, with bells on.

For those who lurk in the background if you would like more information and/or are unable to vote, then please send me an email at swallace@spiderweb.com.au and I will pass on your interest.

A Trad only shoot on Norfolk Island will definitely be a one of a kind. It is a great holiday destination too for those partners who do not participate in the tournament and as you mainly shoot in the morning, the afternoons and weekends are free to wander, explore, shop, sightsee, relax and unwind. (well that's what we did anyway  )

cheers

The Australian government will introduce legislation next week to strip Norfolk Island of the self governance it has enjoyed since 1979.
You won't need passports much longer :banana-dance:
