Re: Mallee Sunset Trad Shoot 29/30 Aug 2015
hey gazza, that was a slight under exaggeration on my part wasn't it..... the hardest part was getting the fingers off the string when it's 5 degrees. We were grateful though it was -2 when I got out of my nice warm bed.
Yes devilish is a great description of some of the shots on the course. We also had a Poppinjay, 2 timed speed rounds, flying triceratops, mini rolling disks and the long range clout plus the challenge round. All in all quite an interesting shoot.
Will get the photos' off my camera when I can and I know others may not be able to do the same until they are home. As the scores were done manually there won't be put up. I know most of the Qlders are taking trophies home.
Thanks to Roadie and those from the Mallee Sunset club who also lent a hand in the running of everything.
cheers

Congratulations to Roadie and the whole Mildura crew for a great Trad Shoot with lots of variety and challenge and some really, really, really cold nights. An enormous effort went into creating the targets and setting the ranges with limited resources and very little cash so a big thank you to the Mildura crew and especially Roadie - well done!!
For us "northerners" temps down around 2 degrees are pretty much unheard of and none of our warm clothes were quite warm enough - thank God for red wine and Scotch Whiskey!!
The kids and I made it an archery road trip beginning with the Hinterland Trad Shoot, then a visit to Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo and onto the Mildura Trad Shoot before the trip back to Qld visiting friends and family along the way so it was a cracker two weeks.

Made it home at long last 5500Km shot at 3 clubs, got rained on heaps, almost bogged the caravan once, 100 km of waterways paddled.
All in all a great trip, we have started planning for next years run.
