Wide Bay Tradtastic Feb 7/8 2015

#1 Post by little arrows » Fri Aug 15, 2014 8:31 pm

I was advised late this afternoon, by a little birdie from Wide Bay Archers in Qld, the club will be holding their inaugural Tradtastic on the weekend on February 7th and 8th 2015. I believe they have two courses and there was mention of a skateboarding pig ??? mmmm

So mark your calendars, the Trad year kicks off earlier, and with only 176 sleeps to go....

cheers

Great news, another Trad event. Hopefully we can get enough shoots in a year to save us having to go to work.

here's the flyer for the biggest boldest brassiest Inaugural Trad shoot for 2015 - so the club informs me  and if Richie had anything to do with it, devious also comes to mind.

So mark your calendars with 112 sleeps to go..

I've had a call from Richie (he is an ozbow member, he's just shy, - well he is on ozbow, he definitely isn't in real life  )
anyhoo I digress - he has requested if it would be at all possible if you have the slightest inkling you may be going to this Trad shoot, could you please let me know.

Wow the place sure has changed since a small group of us started the club way back in 1985 or there abouts.

It still disappoints me to see the club name wasn't kept and has changed from Bowhunters to Archers just like many of the other old clubs.

Jeff, probably because the majority of members are archers and not bowhunters????

That maybe the case with your club membership now days. However name changes of many Bowhunting clubs happened years ago for other, let's just say politically correct reasons IMO.

Look like a first class venue Redeagle. The shoot coincides with the time of year when we have a lot of roads cut due to flooding in NQ. My issue will be getting the time before and after to travel, will see how it goes a bit closer to the date.

Cheers.... Rod

Ps. We are lucky most of the Townsville crew are avid hunters.

I remember when a lot of clubs started doing this, and it was exactly for that reason.

'Field Archers' might have been a little better, to separate from target archery clubs, and maintain the spirit of that style of shooting in the club name.

I heard today that you are expecting over 400 Trad Archers to come to your shoot. Good luck.
I know that TAA has nearly 300 members. Hope All goes well. To many for me. Cheers Roadie.

OMG Roadie where did that come from???? At this moment we have 45/50 interested, and are expecting roughly 120, give or take 10. By the way, we've catered for 400 at national shoots and 700 at world champs, so someone has mixed it up with that maybe. Hope to see you there, Richie.

Ay Richie, I think that is what happened, someone up your way made inquiries about our shoot etc ,and somewhere in the translation the figure of 400 was mentioned, and the person at this end thought you was getting 400 at your shoot. That was how it was passed onto me.
Good Luck with the shoot, can't make it, have to rest and take it easy, still have a hole the size of my wrist in my back/shoulder where they removed the Cancer. Slinging arrows is on hold for a while. Cheers Roadie.
