mornin'

re-reading the post by "The Hunt" (on flyer update) - we don't need a set of flu-flu's - just a "so-last-years" arrow or flu flu for possible sacrifice, is that correct?

cheers

Yes that is correct, there is no Flu Flu however some of Shreks fun non scoring shots you could use a flu flu on

Flu-Flus are good. Some of us us them often. The large collection of feathers make it easier to find them in the shrubbery.

SQAS Field Championships are on this weekend. Take note Christine/Cleve.

'Hi de Ho' trend setters Flu Flu's are good for a couple of the fun shots, blunts would be bestest to get your arra's back with tips and cause less carnage.I love the sound of shattering cedar! It sounds like rice bubbles SNAP, CRACKLE and BANG.

It's Exit 66 off the Pacific Motorway, and a sharp left hand exit turn coming from Brisbane (so we don't all go past it, and end up in Nerang somewhere, then come back up the Motorway from the other direction, like we did last time  )

cheers

The key to this is when you exit at 66 be in the left lane and follow the signs that say Smith St Gaven, follow the big loop rd that comes back towards the highway, you croos over the M1 and at the traffic lights turn right then first left.
Cheers

we are giving our best shot, if you'll pardon the pun. We have had lot of fun today, not too many arrows shot. I am not sure who it was Shrek had a word to about the weather, it seems they weren't listening, as it has been a little damp today. Only the ground and our camps not our enthusiasm. A lot of camps set up today and a lot of day tripper due tomorrow.

only 1 sleep to go.....

Morning All.

Day 2 at Hinterland. Yesterday was wet arriving - wet shooting - and wet leaving.

Today looks a tad drier.

Hi Christine, Shrek and all the Hinterland team.
Thanks guy's for a great though wet weekend. Sue and I had a ball as usual with really good company in Tom & Kate, Danny and Peter who joined us today.
It was the last Trad for the year and went off with a bang. Oh by the way Christine, we did get home before dark, thanks to your efficient management.

Good job guy's, see you there next year.

Your welcome Ronster, I am glad you had a great weekend. Despite the weather we all managed to have a fantastic time. I am pleased you were home before dark lol

yes we are all please Ron made it home before dark.... - that'll keep everyone guessing for a while.

There were 53 intrepid archers, that braved the wet and windy weather, with 2 who were over from Germany doing a course in Brisbane and joined their friend at Hinterland shoot.
So if you didn't make, we all had a great weekend despite the damp, there was laughter all around. Although we could only shoot one range on Saturday as the creek through the 2nd course was running a tad fast, we were able to shoot this course on Sunday, which worked out quite well.
There was the 30sec Speed Round, 60sec Hog Hollow Hunt Round, the launching Rolling disk, the running pig. We also had the loo shot, the rocking Horse, Poof the Magic Dragon, plus the Team shoot Castle event. So there was plenty to keep us occupied.
Today the sun even came out, so mostly everyone's gear was dry to pack up after the morning shoot was over.
A big thank you to all the members of the Hinterland club that come together to make this shoot as good as it is.
So mark your calendars for the same weekend next year, and be there rain hail or shine.

Here are the scores from the weekend.

A big thanks to our canteen crew and club members who supported the comp. Special mention to Sue Wallace who supported with the score sheets prior and scoring during the event.

Hey Christine, anything to help things flow smoothly...

When you have a look at the score sheets you will notice there are quite a few with no score entered. A few of those in Male Longbow and Recurve chose not to do them, as they couldn't keep the sheets dry (hint - an umbrella helps  ) others were not able to compete Sunday or were taking photo's Sunday (thanks Mark). The others including Cubs Juniors and Ladies were a group of Trad archers from the AA Mount Petrie Bowmen club who chose to shoot 3D targets for the first time and not compete in the SQAS title shoot. They were using their target bows and arrows, they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we will be seeing more of them at the various shoots around Brisbane in 2015.

Hey Shrek, The Hunt and the whole Hinterland Crew,

thanks for a great weekend - great ranges, great company, great food and great fun!!

Just TOO much rain on the Saturday... please make sure you get Shrek to talk to the rain gods and sort that out for next time  .

Also, I left my red Columbia vest hanging over a chair at the canteen - doh!!

If anyone finds it perhaps someone could bring it to the next shoot (in 2015) for me?

Thanks again for a great weekend

Hi Sue.

Everyone was more or less ready for drenching they were about to receive.

Waterproof Scoresheets. I say again Waterproof Scoresheets. Then again there are advantages to not scoring starting off with you don't get disappointed about losing that Sheep Station........
