For any club info it would be helpful if we could all get into the habit of nominating so they have an idea of numbers for the shoot, and I how about, we go all out, and let them know about meals as well.
Lets give that a go with the rest of the shoots on the calender.

Purely from an admin' view. I agree that sounds like a good idea. However, there has no requirement (and a subsequent developed culture) to nominate over the last 10 plus years.

For 10 years or more we tried pre nomination for the North Albert trad shoots. Forms were posted to known addresses and also posted on the Ozbow site in later years.

Response was poor at around 20% of shoot numbers for the weekend.

I am have pre nominated at four shoots this year, and I am just picking up on what I am seeing working for others. Not compulsory but the more that do it the more efficient we can be on the day and get everyone out on the course doing what they love to do. We will still accept noms on the day

I believe pre nominations would be the ideal, but realistically probably a deterrent. I wont know if I can make it myself to this shoot for a while yet as an example.

That's absolutely fine it is not compulsory only you can still nominate on the day no problem at all. it just gives us a head start with those who know they are coming let us know.No biggie!

yeah I know its always best to get some idea of numbers for all sorts of reasons and all ABA clubs insist on it, but would not like to see it made mandatory with trad shoots as often one doesn't know until last moment whether we can actually make it . Hope I do get to your shoot , enjoyed last year's.

Before we all go and get our nickers in a knot.... and yes with ABA you must nominate or they charge you extra if you turn up. So isn't it better in ABA case to nominate and not turn up, - still gives a false people number on the actual day - Anyhoo, we are not going there OK !!!...

Bob, you would normally put on ozbow something along the lines of "would love to go, just not sure blah blah blah fishcakes" so that is just a Perhaps Maybe, so nothing changes - we are only asking for rough idea - We are NOT saying- "you must pay your money now and if don't turn up Tough Cheese"..

Lets just give it a go shall we, and see what happens.

cheers

So looking forward to it. We would love to see as many of you there as possible. With a few more helpers on hand to support Shrek this year we are looking to make some changes to make the shoot more efficient.

just as an update to our flyer:

We will have 2 ranges of 15 targets total of 30 targets, we have decided to go with a 2 shot/1shot round that swaps over the next day. So the range you shot 2 arrows on day 1 you shoot 1 arrow on day 2 and vise versa
All Field Targets will score 10/8/5

Our scoring Novelties score 10/5
Rolling disc
Rampaging pig
Speed Round
Hunt Round

We will have 4 additional non scoring Novelties plus the pork eye

Rocking Horse small cost winner takes the pot!
Night time fun shoot
The castle where you challenge another team to a clout 1 arrow fun shoot.
And then Shreks mystery target where you will need a sacrificial arrow or flu flu with blunt :surprised:

Plus AXE and KNIFE throwing with trophies Saturday Night

Friday Night sausage sizzle $2 and Catering through Saturday and Sunday

I will be on site from Thursday afternoon.
