Lilydale Trad Shoot 2014

Is on the weekend 30-31 August.
Yes this is the same weekend as Mildura!!! You maybe going "what the".

We Lilydale Traders have held off advertising for many months trying to resolve this. I think people know Roadie and I well enough to know that if we say we have tried and tried, you can make up your own minds. I don't believe it is helpful to bore you with what has been going on but we are unable to change the dates. Enough said.
I will give some detail in the coming weeks as to our event but I won't do that today. Writing this has been enough for the moment.
Can I ask you to try and support either event as much as you can, we all need the numbers to make the future good for Trad events in Australia.
Tony

Evening Tony, Thanks for the Heads Up, BUMMER.
As Tony said we won't go into the details of the decision, BUT TRAD Rules in our Hearts.
I wish you well in your shoot, and I thank you and the Fellow TRAD shooters for sharing and competing in the First Trad shoot that I had organised here in MILDURA. It was a Blast, even trying to Shoot down a Load of Pumkins fired from a Moet Perrier, was fun. Catch up with you somewhere Tony. Cheers Mate. Roadie.

well that's a bit of a bother for the travellers who were heading south... never mind.

Everyone, by supporting one shoot or the other it will give both clubs the chance to point out, if the shoots had been held on a different weekends the attendance would have been greater.

Lets hope it can be resolved for next years events.

cheers

Little John

For the shoot we were thinking about getting the horn-master to make you a rum drinking horn form this fella.

  What a ripper!!!! Those horns would certainly hold a few litres.....Not only that, but i could tie a string between those ripper horns; walk behind the bull and loose an arrow like a catapault. Thanks pro. for thinking of me....

I am also hoping my new yew english longbow measuring 79'' from natural archer will have arrived so that i can give you guys a run for your money.

But only on Saturday. As Sunday i will need to attend church to repent

This has got the makings of great Trad outing. With the current stream site tidy up and that sunlight coming through at the sunday ABA you could hear the forest growing. Deer trails everywhere sure are a healthy sign.
The word is Kahuna is endeavouring to make this layout his best to date. Planning has been going on for some weeks. :surprised:
I gather some pretty major craft is hitting the raffle and auction table for this one so looking forward to some good offerings.
Add Jenny's great menu Sat night plus a smooth well aired red.....wow bring it on. 8)

Hey Folks, I am excited about this event and looking forward to a challenging round of archery. I am trying not to think about the camping in a tent part but I am packing the camp stove to reload hot water bottles during the night if necessary. If that big Longhorn bullock is trained to be campfire friendly I will willingly bring bags of big marshmallows for all to share. But above all I am hoping to sight the LB Forest Fairy. I missed her last year.
Look forward to seeing you all there, Silverlady.

I am going to put it out there and say I am coming to this shoot. I have a few people to catch up with, and Silverlady has asked if I am going and taking a couple of my ELB's for her to look at, which I will. First shoot for me, so I better start practising!!!! Off to DVA field range Saturday..........

Id like to thank Roadie who has asked me 2 years in a row to go to his shoot, but this year Mildura is just to far away for me. I hope the dates dont clash next year as I would really like to take him up on his offer.

Silverlady we were only discussing the LB Forest Fairy the other day. I think she has moved to a more private location. But to keep you warm there is one jar only of Onion Marmalade left and it is for you.

On display will be Fred Bears Signature Bow No 30 of approx. 160 produced. You can hold the riser that one of the great Bow Hunters of this great sport that once had in his hand  . Fred personally inspected every bow real close and band sawed anything not up to scratch. Number 30 is one the Bowmen of the USA would like to get back to mother country but .... its at Lilydale Trad .
Along with this a 63 Grizzly signed by Ted Nugent  sure a Bowhunter of some controversy.
To the Trad guys/gals attending bring along your craft and archery treasures to show Bows ....leather work...metal work...fabric work....lets have a real Trad get together.

Are these old Bears your bows, Tony? You seem to have an affinity with 'golden era' Bear equipment. I can't say as I blame you either. There's something magical about old Bear bows in particular.

For sure Mick..always loved the story of the farm boy to Archery icon. Lucky to own the signature bow plus a few other Grayling Bear mint examples and a few signed pieces by Fred. It is a magical feeling to hold something that was once in Fred's hands.
