Trad Get-together 2013/Wisemans Ferry shoot CANCELLED

I have just had a phone call from Rob, the Traditional Archery Get-together for 2013 at Wisemans Ferry has been cancelled due to extreme weather conditions all over NSW with roads being cut and the Hawkesbury River is on the verge of flooding onto Rob's property, and the shoot grounds are now absolutely saturated.

I was so much looking forward to playing in the mud.
It would have just been like shooting in NZ

Bugger I was so keen to come for the first time !!!!!
Will it be on AT&T another stage in the coming months of so will be there in a flash !!!!

If Rob reschedules the shoot I am sure either he or myself will put something on ozbow. There was no talk of it at this stage.

Last Sunday I drove through 400mm of a metre of water over a small bridge coming back from Robs after a quick shoot. The ground even then was very spongy under foot.
That little bridge was a fair bit higher earlier that day and a bloke in a commadore needed to be towed out Those height markers on the side of the road are there for a reason

Yet I visit people out Forbes Condobolin and Parkes the week before who have only just got rain in the last few days, and people had cattle and sheep graizing along the roads between Narromine and Condo, I might need a canoe to visit them next time

Things are a bit tough all round at the moment and waiting isn't the easiest thing to do either.

I was really looking forward to this event; I hope cancelled means postponed!!
Not only was I looking forward to the event, the shooting but meeting all the great people I have been "conversing with on ozbow.net; Rob Mc, Roadie, Jeff, Sue and all those helping me with advice etc.
As I say I hope its postponed not cancelled.

Hi Sue,

and thanks for the heads up - it realy is appreciated as it would be long way to drive and I was planning to leave Brissie on Thursday morning. Now I have four days holidays to fill...hmmm I wonder?

A real shame as I was also really looking forward to this attending shoot for the first time as well. Hopefully Rob's property will not be badly affected?

So it looks like the Trad Rendezvous at North Albert will now be the first shoot - hopefully the weather settles and it can go ahead as planned.

Also, I hope no Ozbowers have been badly affected by the rains and that things settle quickly now.

Sorry for everyone keen and planning for this shoot.

At least with a reschedule I may actually be able to make it for the first time this year.

damm shame we cant all meet at robs place,i was looking forward to the road trip and the good company,going to console myself with a hunting trip as soon as the weather clears up ,the way its looking it will be some time in august lol.
