Hi Gary,
really looking forward to your trad shoot this year. Planning to be there with the kids in tow this time and very excited about your African animal targets - should be a real hoot.

Gympie Trad Shoot 2012

#13 Post by GympieFieldArchers » Sat Aug 11, 2012 6:05 pm

Hi All,

Well it's almost the end of the Traditional Shoot year, just one big event to go, Gympie has it's annual Trad Shoot which is due on the 27th & 28th October 2012. We have had a very busy year, the club has build new roads and causeways to the club and widened the road to get rid of the tight turns for the vans, we have built a new block of 6 showers, gas heated in a uni-sex format and purchased 20 new 3D African Targets which will be christened at the Trad Shoot, this will give us 45 x 3D Targets in all, we have also setup a clout range with variable distances to cater for all ages, sexes and poundage bows.

The Trad Calendar is getting bigger and stronger each year, as a newby to the group "Team Gympie" have a strong following within the club without losing our roots, we are proud to be part of this and will endeavour to put on a bigger and better shoot each year.
Our website is the heart of our club, we have setup a Trad Info 2012 & Trad Info 2013, the latter is open to anyone to offer info that they would like posted & to update dates etc, just goto http://www.gympiefieldarchers.com.au and have a look. You can send info to "president@gympiefieldarchers.com.au" and it will be done. More to Follow !!

Cheers Gary

Well Gympie's shoot is closing in fast, as Sue would say "Only 27 sleeps to go" This is going to be a biggie, the new showers are finished, the new roads are finished, more camping area, the clout range mowed and groomed and I'm still thinking about distances to challenge you, the African 3D targets are still virgins and we can't wait to see you all again so if you are still thinking about it just do it. This is the last shoot for the year then you can hang up the bow until Rob's Wiseman's shoot in 2013.
Gympie had 7 shooters at Tully for their annual Trad Shoot and Trophy Takers awards and we had a ball, not to mention a pretty good kill rate in the trophy department but who's counting. Shane and the crew made our weekend a really good time...Thanks Guys
See you in Gympie on the 27th & 28th October .......... Cheers to all from Gary and the team at Gympie

Went out to the club on Sunday for a shoot and discovered they have now opened part of the new highway.
For those coming from the south (Brisbane etc) it is best to take new exit 244 (Old Highway) and follow the directions from Gympie site (along the old highway). It is also Mary Valley Tourist Route No 42, which goes right past Barsby Road.
