Lilydale Bowmen 3D Trad Event

#1 Post by Trad Bound » Fri Mar 16, 2012 6:30 pm

Well time has past and we have struck a date.
September 8 and 9 will be our next trad event.

Two days two rounds of 20 targets per day. Lilydale rules on each round, up to two arrows per target final arrow is your score.
Hopefully some other activities such as knife and axe throwing and maybe some informal workshops such as knife making using a forge, string making and leatherwork and some really top notch raffle prizes.

Camping onsite with good hospitality
The details are being worked out at the moment but hopefully that is enough to temp you to come join us.
More details and a flyer to come soon (once I return from sunny Wisemans)

After Dunolly this will be great. Even now the courses are looking rainforest grand and I hear some great angles being discussed for challanging traditional style course placement. With Trad shooters engineering this outing it should be a blast 8) 8) 8) .

Not long to go now. Plans are well underway. As well as our trad raffle there will be a raffle ticket sale that will be drawn at our jan 2013 LB 100 event. This LB 100 raffle has a first prize of a Mark Eastman Osage longbow. Mark is a very well known Victorian bowyer. Second prize will be a set of woodens arrows made by Wayne Rathbone and third prize will be a leather quiver kindly donated by Tony Snushall. So keep an eye out for LB100 tickets over the next months. Yes we will have them at Dunolly.

What else at the shoot..... Our roast dinner, I received a call yesterday to say venison is likely to be on the menu. Thanks to another lilydale club member. As to the 3D shoot lots of hunter shots if you have not visited lilydale the course is set amongst the forest. Mark Eastham ( the big kahuna) and I will encouraging you to experience targets set like you were on a hunt. The camping grounds will be open early on the Friday. Friday night I will be doing a free sausage sizzle for the early starters.
What else ...... knife and axe throwing, string making, leatherwork and possibly a knife making demo. I hope that temps your taste buds. See you there.

I think I may have just pipped him. We both shot 195 in the hunt, I think he just got me in the kings, and I'm pretty sure I got him in the clout. We didn't hang around long enough sunday for the results
