Leongatha's annual archery comp, 15th April
It's on again and as last year the main event will be a challenging 3D course through the pretty Coal Creek Historical Park. This year we are holding a medieval fair on the Saturday with sword fighting ,foot combat and a historical English longbow comp followed by a feast. People who want to take part in the Medieval event can camp over night at the Park.I'll post more details soon as I get them.
Sunday's event is a seperate event to the Saturday event so you can do both or either one.

On the Saturday's historical comp remember that the more historical your gear the better the score. If your Elb has a grip/handle 5% off. If your bow is under 70lb ( men only)5% off. If you draw to the corner of the mouth or any other modern anchor 5% off your score. Arrow shafts smaller then 23/64 5% off.Self nocked arrows only and no bright colours for fletching. No back quivers allowed.
On Sunday all trad bows are allowed and it will be two 20 target rounds of 3D.
I'll post some more details next week.

Len and all the LMS crew thanks for the fantastic 3D shoot the target layout was great very challenging liked the crow on the log shoot through the barn window.
The cat under the bridge certainly got everyone's attention.
Great shoot .

Re: Leongatha's annual archery comp, 15th April
Thankyou Len and all of the LMS crew for a wonderful weekend.
I'd like to thank the LMS members for giving me some hints and advice on medieval clothing. Especially Barbara for letting me peruse through those medieval clothing books.
On the Sunday the 40 targets were strategically placed for a little out of the ordinary shots which made it an enjoyable shoot.
An excellent weekend.

Re: Leongatha's annual archery comp, 15th April
Hey thanks Neil and Ian and Jeff...to be honest by the time the trad shoot came around the next day my arm was aching. I used a 70 pound Elm longbow...shot reasonably well on the first round but the second round i couldnt even concentrate..so i my score was regrettable and one i plan to forget. a big thanks to all who were there.
Archeress is a long way from home
