Hi All.

Weather is superb , ranges are brilliant, archery is pure heaven.

Some more photos.

Steve - Longbow Steve - says, "Hello". and apologises for his poor shooting. This also a lesson in reading over peoples shoulders. p.s. Check out his new hairdo when I finally get a photo.

30 minutes to the start - time to make a few arrows.

At least 25 participants this. Most of whom struggled to hit the target - probably because not only did they get a torch beam in the eyes but a blast from a mild flash as well.

Have fun. Those who did not come to the shoot have missed an really good time. The keen ones are off attempting "The Challenge Shoot". I am trying to convince myself to climb the mountains.

Young pup go anyway. Young fellow turned up today and within minutes was enjoying himself and did not want to put the bow down for hours. He did really well.
No one at this shoot will dis you for putting your toe in the pond. You can enjoy aspects of this from your first moments. We all start somewhere and very few win a gong their first trip. Some of us do not even put in score sheets. People will be repairing / making gear or trying different bows or chin wagging.....dive in. and have no fear. Tell people you are new, do not apologise and patiently watch and ask questions.
People at this gig and others laugh with you not at you, unless of course it is me. They are only cruel on those they love and those they know can take it.
All friendly. No politics, no drama queens or kings.

Excellent weekend - despite being drunk enough to fall out of my chair, then doing the Challenge Round with a large hangover. Didn't lose an arrow and hit everything though, even that nasty little fox. Andy

The excellent venue and near perfect weather made for a top weekend of archery.

Nice Crisp Photos Darrell. That photo with the 125# warbow isn't that Eoin or for those who attended would know his as Thirty Tree and......... :surprised:  Thirty Tree and a half ahh an Irish accent. That man is mad I saw his arrows, Harry Potter could not ride them they were so thick. He asked Steve Wallace for a set of arrows, I don't think there is that much timber in Queensland.

Yes Grahame, what happend to all the other one's ??? I seem to remember having my photo taken in between two blokes with fury things on their head?

I'm still on a high from the fantastic weekend at Wiseman's yet again. The Archery skills on display, the little kids shining through the adult exterior... the teasing and banter and falling out of chairs (eh Andy??) the snoring competetion (thanks Kev)

Thanks one and all for the good company, and especially Rob and Di and all the helpers who keep us fed and entertained.

Hi All.

The photos! It was a great weekend and a challenge in more ways than one. I did think of going for a wander along the challenge range but after a look at the walking wounded and considering how happy I would be if I dropped the camera discretion became the better part of valour and I skipped it.

The Trip down. Left Brisbane in the early am of Friday - it started raining as we crossed the NSW border and kept us company for many kilometre. Noticed the roadworks sign outside Kempsey announcing the Kempsey Bypass - if they want to make me happy they should start north of Coffs!

Eventually Daryl and I rocked in Wisemans around 2:30 real time (that would 3:30 NSW time) Friday afternoon and rapidly settled in. There seemed to be a continuous stream of arrives for the following hours. Dinner Friday Night was great - every meal from then on was great.

The return journey was much the same - left Wisemans at 3:00 am real time and rocked back into Brisbane around 2:30 Friday afternoon.

Now for the photos. I have included some hoefully that will show the ruggedness of the country and the steep slopes (Mainly to highlight it to some other people who may be surprised and the sort of country we were shooting across. If anyone is thinking of coming to the event and has not been before wear adequate shoes with good ankle support - you have been warned.) Note also the camaraderie with AA, ABA and 3DAA shooters all shooting together in a spirit of friendship and no issues.
