The Tully Challenge 2011

#1 Post by Flatliner » Sun Aug 21, 2011 10:25 pm

Went down to the Tully Bow Hunters club today, Five minutes after I pulled up I found myself climbing up a ladder with the end of a 6 meter steal beam on my shoulder. :o The lads were in the middle of rebuilding the roof over the practice range (the old one lost a bit of a disagreement with some one called Yassi, they said ). The club and the whole area for that mater copped a bit of a hiding in the last storm but I was assured that every thing would be in order for this years "Tully Challenge" which will be held on the 17th-18th of September.
If you've been to the Challenge before you already know what a great shoot it is come rain, rain or shine. (It doesn't hail here) It is known for it's relaxed, friendly and sometimes zany atmosphere.

There is heaps of great camping,
Full amanities,
Meals available,
Bar,
Entertainment,
Novilty shoots,
Speed shoots,
The running bore,
The ironman comp :D
Great people,
Excellent variety of three D courses,
And a brand new roof and storeroom for the practice range.

So if you're in the area, or even if you're not but you want to see rainforrest that looks like it belongs in a Dr zeuse book   and meet some really good people and shoot rubber animals in the scrub with them and generaly have a rip snorter of a good time I'll see you there.

You can find the Tully Bow Hunters Club behind the Tully cemitary

Wish I had the wherewithall to go up there, but the Minister for War and Finance would take a very dim view of my raiding our meagre cookie jar for funds.I did get to a Tully shoot about 25 years ago and on some of the down hill shots we had to cut our toenails first!
