2011 Archery Events Calender

#1 Post by Chase N. Nocks » Thu Nov 25, 2010 11:42 am

G'day all.

Just wondering if anyone has any event calenders up yet. I know it is early days but my home and work situation means I have to plan way way ahead.

So far I have reserved Easter...I know there are usually a few to choose from ABA State, North Albert Trad, and Gladstone?? I think. And I definitely want to go to the Corrival this year as well..Even maybe a trip to a Victorian event just may be an option as well.....are we getting Rod Jenkins back, huh, are we, are we???

AHH! I was thinking about the Longbow/Recurve Muster in Gladstone which is about June...I'm hoping for that one.

Troy,

The trad shoots held in Queensland [North Albert, Gladstone and Caboolture] should be in a similar time frame in 2011.

Thanks Darryl.

I know it is usually a long weekend but that seems too late for Easter so I assume Queens's Birthday???

Troy,

Yeh, Easter is later next year.

Another good one is Wisemans Ferry - 3rd weekend in October - well worth the trip - oh and the Tim Tam Tea Time of course.

I am still hosting the calendar and would be happy to enter all of the events as they are made available. I found last year being crook and all it was a bit hard keeping up. This year all is good and will give anyone access to allow them to edit the calendar for their respective clubs.

Cheers

Lilydale bowmen are holding a 2 day event which will include:
3D and paper targets
Novelty Shoots
Craft exhibitions
Flemish string making workshop
Bow making workshops
Advanced archery skills workshop held by a special quest. (To be announced soon!)
Trade blanket stalls etc.

It will be open to all comers
And especially members from Archery Australia, 3DAAA and of course ABA. We are going to announce this officially within the week and will give everyone plenty or notice.
It will be held on the Australia Day weekend and camping facilities will be provided.

PM me if this is of interest.

Troy, really! :P . If you don't know what the Quad T (as you put it) is, you weren't following the 2010 Traditional get together thread..............we had a great Tim Tam Tea Time with some of the NSW and VIC attendees.

Hey Stephen that certainly sounds like a concept in the planning - (and have you received my email?????)

and last but certainly never least - Roadie I have sent you a pm.

phew that all took some thought......

cheers

Hey Steve,

Could you add the Steve Stratton visit on to the calendar and do a bit of promo for us at your Australia day weekend?

We have made our numbers just but more participants would be even better.

LB100 Classic

#17 Post by Stephen Georgiou » Tue Jan 04, 2011 9:32 am

Well we have finally come up with the format for the LB100!

The draw card for the original LB100 was the fact you got to shoot 100 targets over the 2 days.
To do this and still conform with the ABA (Australian Bow-hunting Association) rules, we are going to shoot a standard 2 day 3D round with an additional 20 targets on the Saturday afternoon.
This will mean that you can compete in the 2 events concurrently. The ABA round and the LB100 round!

We will also have an award for the highest aggregate score for the weekend being for, 3d rounds and novelty shoots.

This is also a perfect opportunity to get in some practice for the World Bow-hunting Championships in April to be held at Wagga Wagga.

Great calander Steve looks great.
If there was a possibility of getting Adam Parker and his forge as a knife making/ selling demo to the Oz day what a add on that would be.
Adams's skills created great interest at B'rtt trad.

has something changed?
"I am the arrow..the arrow is me...together as one...I fly to thee"
"the stick maybe crooked and the string hath no form,
then married by bowyer, transforms when first drawn"
"twang....thud"
