"Gathering" 2015

Good morning all.

Well it's that time of year & things have been rather hectic at the club.

A lot of you may have heard the rumours that we have no access to the club.

Access to the club from the M1 will be made available for the Gathering. We will have to follow strict guidelines that RMS (RTA) put down for us. Anyway, you will get the full details when you attend the shoot.

We look forward to seeing you all old & new.

That's fantastic news Trish, I've been looking forward to The Gathering and was a bit worried when Nick told me about the troubles you've been having with the RMS. I can't wait for it.

Heads up...with the problems that we have been having at the club with access we now have a License to access the track that leads to the club grounds from the Boom gate off the M1.

To comply with the License the gate will be locked from 10pm. So if you intend on coming to the Gathering please arrive before this time especially if you are arriving Thursday/Friday.

Once you enter the track PLEASE DO NOT leave your vehicle unless you are opening the gates & make sure that you CLOSE the gates as you come through.

Flights booked, rental camper paid for and bear slowly being packed. One SUPER pumped archer slowly loosing my mind in anticipation :)

Hi all whats for format / run of events ie what targets and how many arrows per target what sort of distances what arrow material etc for us newbies who have not had the pleasure of attending the HVTA event.

1 arrow per target. Distance varies for each target. Wood arrows only, except for little kids I think. There is a running pig, bow bird (so bring flu flus if you have them),speed range, the hunt, rolling disc and a broad head range, as well as the 3D ranges.

Hi mate thanks for that so approximately how many arrows are shot over the period of the comp - gives me an idea of what weight bow i can comfortable shoot! (getting old with many injuries)

well, the old man and i have arrived in sydney, picking up the camper and supplies and we are on our way!!!!!! i've lost my bloody voice as well (pleasing for all of you i'm told....).

Well what can I say!!!! That was one hell of a weekend.

I'd like to say thankyou to EVERYONE at the hunter valley for 2 ring in from out of state we were made to feel at home and as part of the family.

Great food, locatation and a 1 in a million course layout. With the trials and tribulations the HVTA is going through its heart warming to meet and see so many people supporting the club.

Dad and I will be back next year!

Now Andy F my back is killing me from that bloody monstrous War Bow :)

Yes, thank you to all concerned. Cecilia and I had a great time yet again - even though my shooting was so woeful I didn't bother putting a score in.

That said, at least I won The Wand with one incredibly flukey shot from my 120lber (so there was something to celebrate even though the authorities forgot to mention it :)). Never mind.

Bjorn, hope your back clears up. The old war bows are fun eh? Don't go for anything less than a 100lber.

morning all

We had a fantastic weekend.....so pleased with all who travelled from afar to attend our wonderful club.

The weather gods did us proud, for once we had fine weather.

This is the pig we had in Saturday night along with beef, veggies. It was a total hit & we will be doing it again at our Charity shoot.
