slackshots broome trip

#1 Post by Slackshot » Sun Mar 11, 2007 8:45 am

Just a few photos of my trip to Broome last year I thought you would like to have a look at. The Peacocks are wild birds and are extremly hard to hunt, hundreds of them around and they are all watching you!

Hi Slackshot

Welcome to Ozbow!!!

Nice barra and threadfin. 8)

According to the tale, Robin Hood had arrows fletched with peacock feathers. It would be a shame to waste those feathers.

Can you eat peacock? I suppose you can, but what do they taste like?

Mick
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

ACCORDING TO NSW TOWN RANGERS PEACOCKS ARE FERAL ( AN INTRODUCED SPECIES)

Know a bloke who couldnt put up with his peacocks scawking all night and added them to his diet ,according to him they tasted great

Thanks for that but i`m pretty sure that being a feral animal it would legal to harvest especially in w.a.
Adam
The locals are very secretive about 4 legged toothy types, but i know where they are now.As well as some big scub bulls. My son would!nt let m
e have a go .Reckons i would get hurt.NAH the 4 wheel drive was close.
Mick Smith
Young mick harvested the bird, his girlfriend used the feathers for jewlery that she sells at the local markets and yes he said it was very nice chewing
E.T
Young mate.We were lucky to get within CCCOOOEEEE of them. That one was unlucky.Mick spotted him and put the only big tree between him and the peacock.I reckon it must have been deaf and blind.

Slackshot, I have access to 2.1 million access up the fitzy, never been up there always get to busy with work. But land owners tells me the place is crawling with pigs and bulls, must get up there one day.

Maybe we can organize something once I have meet with landowners etc.

Adam
the pigs and bulls I spoke about were very local to Broome. My son Michael has good spots in the area you spoke about also
The young fella would probably join you in a hunt for sure!
