Well it looks like a few of us got out on the weekend, good to see.

I had my first hunt with my son today, although it was a very short couple of hours it was a great little venture.

There were some good goats getting about for the area, but I couldn't resist this small but unique billy.

After photographing him for some time I decided to make the shot. I wasn't able to close the gap any more then 15 meters due to other goats feeding towards me. The upper horned billy was angling away, a shot I like when hunting medium game. The arrow hit the point I envisioned taking the billy goat through the heart and dropping him peacefully within a couple of hoofs stumble.

Adam,

Great photos as usual and no doubt it was a great time spent with Hunter. That goat did have an unusual set of head gear. You certainly see some differnt types at times.

Yep, it's an unusual head, that's for sure. It's good to see a father, son hunting partnership in the making.

There's nothin like a new bow to make you itch to go hunting, eh? :D

Hello lads, thanks for the comments.

Was a great time, Hunters not much older then 2 years old and didn't really know what I was doing or what I was looking at when hunting. However he took a great interest in the billy goat once we got close.

Clint, seen plenty of goats mate but where the goats were in big populations I couldn't get access, most stations are mustering them up. But the place I can hunt has good trophys just not big numbers, so pretty happy all the same. I'm trying to work on another place even closer then the one im hunting now, fingers crossed.

Hey Adam,

Probably one of the weirdest shaped Billy I've seen...

Cheers Guy
