Cobar 2015

#1 Post by matt61 » Sun May 08, 2016 8:05 pm

My Club organized a hunting trip for August with four members going. On our first day at the property, we had two game cameras and I set mine up at Eight mile tank and there was a family of Wood ducks on it.

When I got home from the trip and loaded the photo's of the game camera on to my computer in the first picture was a big feral cat and when I picked up the camera from the tank, there was not a duckling left on it, the cat must have got the lot.
The next picture is of a Nightjar that flew out of an upright hollow log as I walked past it.

100 kilometers in the week at the property

In the next pic this Major Mitchell Cockatoo land on the tree I was leaning against, but I had to keep thumping the tree to get it to look down for a good photo :smile:

I shot this Billy at about three meters and threaded the arrow thru two bushes to get him and had to do it quick as there was a nanny about to cut my wind, two meters away.

Congratulations on a fine hunt! What sort of Black Widow did you get? I have good memories of hunting desert goats with Black Widows.
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Hi Ben
Really good hunting trip always have a great time. It's a PCHX and the limbs have Olive Ash laminations in them. Spec's 54" and 53# and it has a low wrist grip that I really like. I got it 2nd hand from the Stickbow Classifieds in the US.
