Blooded new bow
Took the new bow for a drive up to our goat property. Lots of water around and heaps of feed. Not many opportunities unfortunately, plus wild dogs have moved in and are giving them a flogging.
I managed a wild dog at 12m in a cool dry creek. He didn't move from his bed. The 220gn Outback destroyed him. Was wrapped...
Also managed a young Billy, Shot near vertical down on him as he hid on a cliff face on the rivers edge.

Cheers People, I skinned and salted the dog and will endeavour to tan it down the track. Not sure if it will go on the wall or be made into a quiver. Either way it will be a reminder of my first kill with my bow.

Good job Muz, I bet that dog was hard to stalk.

Re: Blooded new bow
Hey Ranger, I found him sleeping and that's where he stayed. I cut over a "S" bend in a dry feeder creek and he was sleeping in the sand 12m below me. I ducked down behind the crest, nocked an arrow, stepped forward and shot. All happened in about 5 secs. Got him down through the front of his chest.
There were other dogs around but couldn't get close to them.
