Rolling hills

So I've spent a week near Melbourne house siting for a mate who has a small block off rolling hills, so before I even packed clothes the bow and pack was sitting in the back seat ready for some fun.. I climbed a hill and perched up against a tree and began squawking away on my whistle and straight away two foxes were coming in for the kill, first one came to 5m copping a shaft through the chest and the second who stopped 25m out caught another shaft resulting in two dogs from the one stand.. Stoked

I moved on and 100m up I noticed a couple of foxes fighting over a Lamb leg, so I dropped down into the creek and kissed them in, I pulled the first one up at 4m and drove a shaft through his noggin which was the only part visible through the grass, the second came a bit slower but stopped at 6m and took one down the front of the chest.. Holy, another fox double.. So a double fox double!!

The day before I took a ride along a hill and sat down for a whistle but caught two hares cruising around the grass, hare was a critter I was yet to take with a bow but as I used the tall grass and wind to my advantage even the poor hare copped a judo head from 10m resulting in my first kill of species.. As well as topping a bunny near the house I was thinking I've done my dash and it won't get better..

How I was wrong, as I created the same hill as the foxes the next day I spotted a white object working its way along the ridge, a look through the binoculars revealed a cool looking cat, I pressed up against a bush and squeak him into 4m before sending a woodsman through the length of its body.. These hills sure have been good to me..

Nice going Jack. It sounds as though it was the exact opposite of most of my fox whistling efforts, where something nearly always seems to go wrong. It was pleasant to at least hear about a hunt where everything goes right for a change. Did you take your camera?

The Foxes must be thick over there. Awesome hunting Jack and great shooting. Must have been some quick shooting at those close distances with the curve.

Plus a bonus with the Hares, there on my list too.

I came home and had a quick whistle and smoked another fox, 5 foxes for the year. didn't get a fox last year!!
