Home made Electric Rabbit

#1 Post by matt61 » Sun Apr 27, 2014 8:11 pm

Here is some pictures of the Electric rabbit that I made out of bits to stooge the little red dogs and I have had them literally jump on it on several occasions. Its made using a garage door remote controller powered by the smallest 12volt battery I could buy from Jaycar electrical and a mini Cass creek predator call and fits into aluminium box I folded up at work and covered with a rabbit skin for added authenticity. I made it so that once I get them coming in with the penny whistle, it gets them to look else were other than for the whistle in my mouth as seeing my head scares the crap out them  and they are gone in a flash. The last pic shows how I use the remote to trigger it whilst still being able to keep both hands on the bow ready for action. A million dollar R&D team came up with this wonderful device after many hours of testing and trials and many previous models going in the scrap bin.

very ingenious! One small tip that might be of use is to have a squeaker toy like used for dogs handy and place it near your foot. Light pressure on it taking care not to get a suck back effect which will spook 'em, and the dogs will be looking at foot height and not your draw arm. As they can zero in on the exact location of the sound it diverts their attention toward the foot. The guy I learned that from actually had a fox come out of nowhere unsighted and bit him on the foot!

Wow, that's innovation plus!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Nice work mate

Like your style mate
