A small but long awaited milestone.
Well after all these endless years of bowhunting, I have finally taken an long awaited trophy in my traditional bowhunting journey. On a recent deer hunt in the cold cold south of NSW after many a shot at the ninja leaping feral introduced species, I have finally taken my first rabbit. Now it might not seem to be a great milestone in some eyes but to me it was another step towards taking game with stick and string.

Awesome achievement, rabbits are tough hunting! Well done!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Hmmm. Care must be taken with species identification.
Wayne seems to have killed a rabbit.
'Rabbits' are soft and cuddly and eat cabbages and taste nice in roasts and stews
'Wabbits' are a nasty subspecies that always go for the throat, identified (usually too late for the unfortunate wictim) by sharp wampyre and canine teeth alongside the front pair of buck teeth. The eyes gloiw red in the dark.
Take care out there.

Way to go Wayno. Satisfying isn't it .
My first kill with a bow was a rabbit (a head shot at 27 meters),,, but having said that I did tackle a few "wabbits" prior to nailing that one. I'll never forget emptying my 6 arrow bow quiver all around one red eyed demon from hell that knew something was up but couldn't work out where the occasional breeze around his head was coming from.

Well Done Wayno... Great Job...!
I had a mate send me some air rifle footage of them jumping the string so to speak... They have a keen set of ears that's for sure...
Did he make it the pot...?
Cheers Guy...

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!

That's a top effort, well done!!
Re: A small but long awaited milestone.
Never taken them with a bow but they are one of my favourite quarry with a bang stick. Their whole body is the size of the kill zone in a pig so you have to shoot straight.......
Cheers
